Good morning Will there be new players created in the database or just the 10,000 already created? since fm25 is canceled I would like to ask the question

No offense but Kaiserslautern is still in the Europa League in the Database which is not the case IRL. They play in the 2nd division and did not win the DFB Pokal. It inflates their finances quite a bit sadly.

Should be Frankfurt instead of Kaiserslautern.

Those are two different things, sorry I know it's a bit confusing. There's the £10 a year for downloading things like megapacks from our servers rather than free mirrors, this has been around more than 10 years and is how we keep the site running instead of adverts and pays for the storage and bandwidth costs for massive files that are multiple GB's in size.

The £5 is for the Data Update and is a new thing where we're trying to fundkeeping FM24 alive forever. This covers a completely different and new set of costs, primarily a whole army of bots that search the internet and scrape data from websites in order to update player histories and injuries and then AI to try and semi-automate modifications to player abilities and club finances.

Do we need to pay the £5 yearly? Monthly? is it a one off or £5 per download?

£5 for a full 365 day year.

Hi Footygamer, how do we (or is there reason to) use the ‘Real Fixtures and Results’ data from FMRTE alongside the Classic FM data, to allow for the career start at the current day? I especially get conflicts for the England and Wales files.

Footygamer

@Poodmund we do not currently support the real fixtures and results file because it's unrealistic, it's impossible to get the promoted and relegated teams correct across all divisions in all countries.

Our nation files such as England and Wales include these relegations and promotions you can't use two files that both have promotions and relegations, it doesn't make sense.

We also adjust finances and player abilities based on promotions and relegations, if the wrong teams get promoted and relegated they'll be totally out of sync with the leagues their in.

Uhm, i did a clean install of FM 24, removed all my old files in editor data, no workshop steam stuff, did a “load background" thingy and moved all the new files to C:\Users\xxxx\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2024\editor data. No subfolders, nothing. The loading screen stops at full when im trying to load the database into a new save. Been like this for 10 minutes

Hi, I have noticed that the captain for each club is not assigned at the start of a new save, in the latest Classic FM data, resulting in “random” captain e.g. Zinchenko being Arsenal captain instead of Odegaard.

Is there a way to fix that?

Thanks.

Is this still happening?

hi! I recently acquired the Classic FM file and I was wondering if there is a way to get the current ability updates, new players and budgets without it being dynamic? like having all these things but having it be the same every save.
Also I saw there is a south america version of the free sortitoutsi data update but there isn't a south american alternative for the Classic FM file, what's the difference? will this file still work as intended in a south america save?

Footygamer

If you don't use the files in “Optional Dynamic Files” then it won't be dynamic, you have to take steps to make it dynamic, if you don't take those steps then it won't ever be dynamic.

There isn't a south american alternative anymore, that was because we modify dates by +1 but South America runs January>December, now that December has past we don't need it anymore. It works like this:

December 2023

  • 1 File no date changes

June 2024

  • European file with dates modified by 1 year
  • South American file without dates modified

December 2024

  • 1 file with all dates modified by 1 year

June 2025

  • European file with dates modified by 2 years
  • South America file with date modified by 1 year

December 2025

  • 1 file with all dates modified by 2 years

Hope that makes sense

Hi and thanks for the answer. I'm new to the game so may I ask why this is done (the modifying dates +1 in general)? why does it need to be different for south america at times? also if I start in early preseason 2024 for south america (save starts december 25th 2023 in this case) is it still ok to use the newer file?
Sorry for so many questions but it's my first time playing and I've been looking at making the game as complete and up to date as possible before starting and there are some things I still quite don't understand.

No worries but i'm not sure how to explain it any clearer than I already have.

Imagine we are in September 2024.

The dates have to be changed so it is as realistic as possible. If a 25 year old player joined Liverpool in June 2024 with a 5 year contract it doesn't make sense that he should have a 6 year contract and be 24, that that was never the case in real life, so we change his birth date so he is 25, just as in real life, and the expiry date of his contract so that it ends in 2028 instead of 2029, so it lasts for exactly 5 years, just like in real life.

Similarly if you take over Liverpool, in real life TAA, Van Dijk and Salah have 1 year left on their contract, so we change their contract to end in 2024 instead of 2025 so that they have one year left on their contract.

The reason South America needs a different file sometimes is because they start in December or January. If we reduce all south american players contracts by 1 year then the players whose contracts end in December 2024 will now end in December 2023 and leave immediately, even though in real life they are still at their clubs and haven't renewed their contract or signed for a new team yet because it hasn't gotten to December 2024 yet.

Once we pass December 2024 all that has happened so there's no need for the separate file until June 2025 when we would start modifying dates by 2 years and we'd need a separate file that only modifies dates by 1 year for people playing in South America (or some other countries that run Jan>Dec)

Guys

Please explain about the Dynamic folder.

Why are there 10 options + 1 not dynamic?

How do these 10 options differ?

And how to use them? only with the same number?

Footygamer

There is a file called “readme.txt” in the folder, which as the name suggests, you should read.

It says:

These files modify the player abilities and club finances for every player and club in the game.

Each player is rated differently in every file, although this isn't random, they are rated within a realistic range.

By using one of these files each save will be different with players having slightly different ability meaning different wonderkids and players over 30 deteriorating faster or slower.

Club finances will also be slightly different e.g. you may have £70m budget in one save, £55m in another and £85m in another, whilst managing the same club.

To install simply copy ONE file into the folder above this one (the "editor data" folder) and start a new save.

We recommend copying the file rather than moving it so that if you remove it you don't accidentally delete it. But of course you can manage your folders however you like.

HOW TO INSTALL

Step 1) Remove existing files

- Remove any files named “Dynamic Data”, "Non Dynamic Data", “Dynamic New Players” or “New Players” from the "editor data" folder.
- To remove them simply move them into the "Optional Dynamic Data" folder so they're not lost.

Step 2) Add a Dynamic Data File

- Copy one version of  the "Dynamic Data" and “Dynamic New Players” files from the “Optional Dynamic Data” folder into the "editor data" folder.
- For convenience make sure they're the same number e.g. “Dynamic Data 5” and “Dynamic New Players 5” although this doesn't actually matter if they're the same.
- Copying is better so you don't lose the original.
- Which file you choose doesn't matter. It might be best if you remember which ones you have used so your next game can be more unique.

HOW TO UN-INSTALL

Step 1) Remove existing files

- Remove any files with "Dynamic" in the name from the "editor data" folder.

Step 2) Reinstall the "Non Dynamic Data"

- Copy the files named "Non Dynamic Data" “New Players” from "Optional Dynamic Data" into the "editor data" folder

Hi! I am having an issue where contracts are not updated, i.e. contracts that should be expiring in Dec-25 are set to expire in Dec-24 in my game. A few examples of the issue: Miguel Borja (ID 76033093) contract is set to expire in Dec-24 when in reality should expire in Dec-25. Giuliano Galoppo (ID 14219440) has been loaned from Sao Paulo to River Plate in Jan-25, loan expiring Dec-25 - whereas in my game his loan expires Dec-24

I confirm the “Classic FM - +1 Age and Contract Years.fmf”  is enabled in Game Setup, and I don't think I'm using other editor data files that might be conflicting. My current set up has FMRTE's Custom Future Start Date (have tried Dec-24, Jan thru Apr-25), MasterIgor's UEFA, Conmebol, etc. edits, Daveincid's Increased Realism, Sortitoutsi's Licenses Fixes, Nik33's Agents pack, TMC's Euro, Finalissima and World Cup fixes, Rob's History Updates and Fuller's ETCH, ITCH and ATCH. I also tested using only Classic FM's data update, no other editor data changes and the issue persists. I have also tried performing a clean game install, also without success.

I think this points to an issue with “Classic FM - +1 Age and Contract Years.fmf”  - am I the only one experiencing this?

EDIT: I do want to play with FMRTE's Custom Future Start Date and maybe that's related to the issue?

@hypervelocity It's meant to be like that, because it's meant to start the game in summer 2023 or early 2024 (depending on league). Game start in summer 2023 is supposed to be like the season start 2024 IRL and start in early 2024 is early 2025 IRL. That's why people in the game are 1 year older and the contracts appear 1 year “shorter”.

hey Zoul, thanks for the prompt response. I see what you mean, but wouldn't all competitions need to be pulled back a year then to maintain consistency? Now I have 2025 squads playing 2024 competitions (i.e. Copa America) and missing this years' competitions (ie. FIFA Club World Cup).

Any way to disable this mechanic/effect? I've tried unselecting “Classic FM - +1 Age and Contract Years” but that did not work

@hypervelocity  I'm not familiar with FMRTE, what date and year are you gonna start?

The editor has its limitations obviously and I think that's why this is as realistic as it gets. Someone handy with the editor can probably explain better.
