I don't really understand how the updates work. 

Changes that have been improved on player pages i.e. a player to leave when their contract ends, or a CA change - are not in the latest update.

When are these changes put in the updates?

In general, the Data Update is reprocessed on a daily basis. It isn’t guaranteed to happen every single day, because it relies on the staff processing some files - but it really

does happen on a daily basis in reality (maybe 3-5 days a year it doesn’t take place).

In terms of what content makes it into the update - all changes that are approved at the point it is processed should get included. Now, the concept that all community-submitted changes have to be moderated/approved is an important one - this can result in a delay of some days, especially during busy periods of submissions.

I made lots of CA/PA suggestions and they have all been rejected. 

The method for submitting these is broken. If you go to a team you must input a value in every CA and PA field for every single player. Why is this? 

I made suggestions in some fields, but it is time consuming to copy all current values and input them for every player.

Why can't you suggest a change to an individual player's CA and PA? Why do you have to do the whole team? Am I just blind and can't find this option?

Can somebody please get back to me as I'm disappointed and upset that all my suggestions were rejected. I'm trying to help the community!

EDIT: Also, for every team there are a number of what appears to be youth players with their CA and PA set to zero, which means I have to give them a random number for CA and PA. I'm not sure why this is happening.

Thanks for reporting @djdelmar but to be clear this is not intentional it's a bug and when reporting a bug it's really helpful if you're more specific about the issues you're seeing, screenshots, error messages, explaining exactly what team/players you were editing help alot.

I'm trying to replicate what you're saying but I can't figure out and I can't see any error messages in the logs now, i'm going to keep investigating along with other mods but it would all be alot quicker and easier if you explained in more detail. Hopefully you're online now and can try and help.

@djdelmar okay I think the issue was that when submitting it was accidentally creating submissions even for people you didn't fill in.

This should be fixed now.

Please let me know if this wasn't the issue you were describing.

In future, even if you're not sure if something is a bug or intentional, it's much better to be as descriptive as possible so there can be no misunderstandings and try and suggest ways things can be better rather than struggling through something that doesn't seem logical.

I have downloaded the latest update but when I start a new save it just sits on the ‘loading game database’ screen with the loading bar on full. I have no other database files loaded, just the ones from your pack - any ideas?

If it helps, I do not think you need to re-do the submissions you previously submitted.

For extra clarity: the bug in question was resulting in many of those submissions under your name being auto-Rejected - in reality, many of those were ones where you didn't intend to submit anything, anyway (you were working around the limitation).

The Site Admins have now (a) fixed the issue and (b) re-processed your submissions. At a quick glance, I can see ~215 of your submissions in a Pending status. These will get moderated by myself/the team as soon as we our time allows. Those that are approved will get integrated into the Data Update.

My belief is that the submissions you previously made are all in that number. The ones that you never intended to make (but required you to fill in fields to allow it to be processed, due to the bug) have been tidied up.

The main point of this reply is to advise you that I don't think you need to go and re-do all of the effort you made. There may be some individual ones you want to re-submit, but on the whole I think you'll find the intended submissions are still there.

If you give me 24 hours or so, I'll personally get through all of your submissions and I would say, at that point, if anything is missing, please do re-submit.

Can you screenshot your editor data folder and the list of checkboxes you see when starting a new game?

Are this years relegations going to be included in the Update in the future?  

Hello, I would like to know if it's possible to use the Update without the newly created players, like it used to be before. There is a file called "New players.fmf", but even without adding it, all the new players are still present in the game.

Yes, the team is starting to work on updating the individual nation promotions/relegations, as the various seasons complete. The intention will be to roll these into the Data Update as they are completed - naturally, there is a large cluster of leagues that conclude in the coming weeks, so there may be a bit of lead-time between the leagues finishing (in real-life) and all of the updates being completed.

The Data Update provides an all-in-one solution/offering. Unfortunately, there is no way to way to enable only transfers and not new players. Is there a specific reason why you would want to not enable the new players? I'm asking that question not to be combative, but to get a sense of the use-cases that the playerbase have which would mean they want this modular approach.

My view - and I think many of the staff feel the same - is that the purpose of the Data Update is to provide the ‘realest’ database possible which, in this case, includes adding new players who have come through youth setups in the last 12-18 months and them not existing would leave a gap in the data provided by the Data Update.

I was wondering if you are planning to release an update that simulates the upcoming 2025/26 season – with the latest promotions and relegations, as well as recent transfers. Basically, an update that makes it feel like you're starting the 2025/26 season rather than 2024/25. Is something like that in the works?

Yes, that is absolutely the plan. Of course, in real-life, most European leagues (and globally, those that follow a typical winter schedule of August - May) are just coming to a conclusion, now. The staff team are working behind the scenes to start readying updates to reflect the league compositions for 2025/26, wherever possible.

If you look at my previous reply in this thread you will note I was answering a similar question. I cannot guarantee when the files will become available in the Data Update, but it will be one of the focuses for the coming weeks.

Hi i have created current U16-18s for Colchester United all say invalid?  not sure if ive done something wrong as these are the first guys ive created

When a newly-created player submission is returned as ‘Invalid’ it is normally a sign that not all of the fields have been filled in that are required. There is validation in place that only validates a submission if it includes all of the core details for any new player. Admittedly, it may be more intuitive if that validation failed and presented back to the user what they had missed before even allowing the submission - that is something I'll suggest to the site admins (however, it may not be technically possible at this time).

In any case, on to the actual submissions and the correct, minimum detail you should include. Strictly-speaking, I believe you'll need to provide at least a First Name, Second Name, Nation, Position and Contracted Club. Ideally, a DOB would be preferred in all cases, too - as well as a proposed CA/PA if you have a sense of the quality/potential for these players.

Where you've proposed CA/PA-only changes, I can see that those are all in Pending, awaiting moderation; and so those will make it into the Data Update once they get approved by the staff (we try and keep a steady flow on these).

For those new player creations that got marked as in invalid - my recommendation to you would be to go to the Colchester team page (https://sortitoutsi.net/football-manager-data-update/team/636) and from there, click on the name of one of the players. This will present the fields you can fill in and you can then hit ‘Save’ at the bottom and it'll attempt to create the submission. Perhaps do one to the best of your ability and then let me know and I can validate whether that has come through as ‘Pending’, before you spend time on all of the others.

Alternatively, you can click ‘Add New Youth Player’ from the Colchester team page, which will bring you to a completely blank form and you can do the same. If you do it this way, I'll then tidy up the ones that currently show as ‘Pending Moderation’ and have only ‘Invalid’ submissions behind them. One way or another, happy to work together to ensure everything gets (a) submitted that you want and then (b) gets moderated in the right way so we end up with a clean list on the Colchester page.

also just had the same issue creating Dwayne Campina Do Vale despite including everything needed

OK, in that case - and I note your follow-up message below, as well as the outcome of a test I just performed - I believe we have a technical issue with data flowing through.

So my level of access as a staff member/moderator means I can just see what appears to be an Invalid submission. It is bringing through only the CA/PA on the visible submission and not various other details.

I tested with my own ‘test player’ submission and get the same experience as you. To that end, I'm confident you haven't done anything incorrectly - so you shouldn't try and re-submit anything further at this stage.

I have flagged to the Site Admin and I am sure he will get it resolved as soon as he is available. I am not sure whether he will be able to retrieve the data input by you and re-process your ones as valid submissions - but hopefully (to save you having to re-submit everything).

Is there any update out yet which has Sunderland promoted and the prem sides relegated?

I can only speak for the SortItOutSI Data Update - we are not quite there, yet. In general, the release will come as soon as all the divisions have been decided (which is, in reality, within the next week). Of course, there may be a small lead-time because the staff have to make the updates, but I'm sure England will be prioritised as we know it's a popular nation.

Looks as thought is fixed now and saved everything i submitted thankfully! created another player with no errors too

I know some of the sources arent the best bit i work for the club and thats all current u16-18s fir next season not in game

I have downloaded the latest update but when I start a new game it just sits on the ‘loading game database’ screen with the loading bar on full. I have no other database files loaded, just the ones from your pack - any ideas?
