In Scotland, the B teams are in the Lowland league, but thats not in my DB, so the youths play loads of friendlies. (I also met a B team player IRL and he said the players didn't get any benefit from it…but the game won't take that into account). I've added the B teams into the League 2 and I want to stop them being promoted out of it, but I can't find anything in advanced rules that allows me to do that.
There used to be a simple tick box in older versions of the editor, but I can't find anything or anything online about it for FM24.
Can any of you amazing people help with this?

Hi! you can try this and tell me if it works in Scotland too.
1 - Go to advanced rules of
Scotland2 - Go to
Cinch League 13 -
Promotion/Relegation4 - Check
Teams that cannot be promoted from lower division5 - Try with the settings that I put in the second screen (I checked that in Scotland the B teams are called "
B Teams" and not with other names of different categories. This way, you ensure that B teams can only get promoted to League Two and that's it.

Hi, thanks for this. The problem is I don't seem to have the option for promotion/relegation. I used Rules/Add Nation rules/Nation(Scotland)/Add Lower Divs & Cups To Existing Structure/Convert To Advanced Rules. I wondered if it was hiden somewhere.

Scotland did away with reserve leagues a while back so clubs felt young players weren't developing because they were only playing against other kids. Celtic, Rangers and Hearts created B teams so they could play in the Lowland League to get more competitive games. Rangers pulled out after a season or two, but Celtic and Hearts are still there.
Possibly interesting fact is I met a Celtic B team player and he told me the lads over 18 don't like it and don't feel they get any benefit from it because the quality of the guys in the LL teams isnt good enough. Neither of them have won the LL so take from that what you will.

From your screenshot, I think the mistake you are making is that you are actually browsing to the Competition record in the Database. In the top-left, if you click on Advanced Rules, you should then find the options you need.
marcodoglio94
in this screen you are in the competition section and not in advanced rules, that's why you don't find it.
At the top you find
Advanced Rules, click on it and then the list of competitions will come out. Then follow what I wrote in the first message.
Let me know if this solution causes the game to say that in League Two, under the table, B teams cannot be promoted to League One.

Where it says ‘Show Rules For: Scotland’, in that drop-down select the relevant division. The Promotion/Relegation section is then within that specific division's advanced rules.

As @M.C told you, you have to go to the competition section and from there you will find it.
In the screen you are on the rules of the nation, while you are interested in those of the single competition.

hey guys, thanks for the help. you got me there.
much appreciated.
I was initially in the correct spot, but I didnt realise to change the drop down from scotland to cinch 2 so i was clicking on cinch 2 from the list below scotland and away from the advanced rules section.

Me again. I followed your explanation, and it worked to verify the DB, but when I started a new game, the B teams werent in League 2. I checked the correct DB was loaded, and any DB's that didn't work were deleted. ONly DB's on are fixes for other things that I've downloaded from here other FM sites.
Any ideas?
