Changing Champions League qualification slots

My goal is to reduce the english premiership european qualification slots. Looking to “even out” things financially so that other leagues (e.g. Dutch, Portegeuse, Austrian, Scottish, etc etc) have better chances in Europe and the quality/finances across Europe is improved.

 

Using the PGE I can't seem to find where to do this. I have gotten as far as Add Nation Rules > Show Rules for UEFA Champions League > and various possibilities in this section. But nothiing stands out for qualification slots.

 

I've also looked at “Add Club Continental Rules” but this is confusing as it asks me to specify at least 2 nations (?) as if I am creating a whole new continental competition?

 

If anybody knows the short answer to changing qualification slots though, that would be appreciated. Google did not seem to help much and it may be that what I am looking for is hard-coded behind the scenes.

For anyone coming back to this, I have bodged a solution.
The main issue is that you do effectively (as far as I understand) need to recreate the entire competition(s)

 

Therefore I downloaded a DB someone else made - https://www.fmscout.com/c-fm24-leagues.html?id=12277 (thanks to  falsobohemio)

 

The second edited DB on that list effectively restores the “classic” European format, which is a great start for me..

 

From there I've modified it so that only 2 teams from each league qualifies (top 8 leagues = 16 teams). Then the next 8 teams are made up of 1 of the nest best 8 leagues, and then the playoffs for the final 8 CL spots.

 

Futhermore I've gone and nerfed elite club money. So taken individual elite teams like Man City, Bayern, PSG (basically most clubs in the big 5 leagues) and removed lots and lots of sponsorship money.

 

With the reduced entry to the champions league, I am hoping this balanced out Europe somewhat.
