Hi, I have been a longtime player of FM, but since we don't have FM 25, I decided to do the Data Update for the first time really.
My question is, I normally play with lower league levels in a couple of countries (England, US, and Germany mainly) so that I can manage a Regionalliga or an Isthmian Premier team or something along those lines. Are those editor data files able to run with the data update? And using the pre-editor, is it just the regular 24.3 database or whatever to edit, or do I have to load one of the editor data files to edit anything for a club?
Just wanting to know if that is possible. Thanks in advance!

Given the number of different editor files out there for lower levels, it is impossible to know for certain which files will work well together without testing. However, in terms of league files it can be the case that you can't use two different files for the same nation simultaneously, albeit sometimes you can, it just depends on what has been edited in each file and whether those edits create conflict. For league files, the game is usually good at identifying this and will often prevent the possibility of loading two files for the same nation that will result in conflict that the game can't process.
You then have a choice as to which file you use. For example, I use all data update files apart from Scotland, as I use the lower league Scottish file that has been created by a community member. The 50+ other files all work with that file that I use instead of Scotland, but it is really a case of trial and error.
You will have no issue using a lower league file (whereby the file simply creates the league/competition structure) with files that relate to transfers, contracts etc. but the same applies in that area, in the sense that if you use two different transfer/new player updates you will likely end up with duplicate players.
Finally, if you are going to use a lower league file it is much better to source a 25/26 version of the lower league file that has been thoroughly updated rather than a 24/25 one if using the data update.
