I’ve come across a strange transfer restriction in my FM24 save after installing the Sortitoutsi Data Update (and possibly other related files).

When managing in Peru (Liga 1), I get the following message when trying to sign certain foreign players:

“Cristal can only sign foreign players over 25 years old if they have previously been registered with another top division club.” or “Cienciano can only sign foreign players over 25 years old if they have previously been registered with another top division club.”

This rule does not exist in the base game database or in real life Peruvian football regulations, yet it still appears in my save.

Here’s what happens:

I can’t sign Felipe Vizeu (28 years old, playing in Brazil’s Serie B) or Igor Morais (26, ex-Corinthians/São Paulo).

The same restriction appears if I manage other Peruvian clubs like Melgar, so it’s not club-specific.

When I run the game with the vanilla FM24 database, I can sign all these players without problem.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this an intentional addition in the Data Update, or could it be a mistake? Where exactly can I find and remove this in the Pre-Game Editor?

Thanks in advance for any help!

There should not be anything that is part of the SortItOutSI Data Update that is causing this. In terms of the files that it contains, none of them include any rulesets related to Peru. Therefore, I think it is more likely that you have some other custom data editor files that are introducing this rule.

When you are starting a new game, in the section where you can choose which Editor Data to enable, do you have any entries in your list that show the Peru flag (which is an indication that they change the Advanced Rules for that nation - which is the part of the configuration where these transfer rules are held)? If so, what file(s) are they?

Hi, thanks for the reply.

After further testing, I think I’ve narrowed it down to the “changes” file in the Sortitoutsi Data Update.

When I load the update without the “changes” file but keep all the other Sortitoutsi files active, I can sign players without any issues. However, as soon as I enable the “changes” file, this transfer restriction appears.

What’s strange is that in the editor data selection screen, the “changes” file doesn’t even show the Peru flag (so it shouldn’t be affecting Peru’s advanced rules), yet somehow it’s introducing this limitation for Peruvian clubs.

So it seems that the “changes” file is indirectly altering Peru’s rules — even though it’s not flagged as doing so — and this doesn’t happen in the base game or with the rest of the update’s files alone.

Do you know if there’s anything in “changes” that could be unintentionally causing this?

There is definitely nothing in the changes file that causes this.
