Contracts are wrong in update
Jannich V. Danielsen
Yes, all contracts seems to be off in the new update
Derrenosborn
im having to offer everyone a new contract at brighton
mattlewisbyi
Arsenal contracts are wrong, Norgaard starts as transfer-listed and not needed by club
M.C
Can someone please provide a little more detail about what, in fact, is ‘wrong’ or ‘off’?
Are we referring to the contract length? The wages the players are earning? Something else entirely?
Depending on the nature of what is wrong, there may be an explanation, or there may be a bug that we need to take care of. Or it may even be as a result of something the Data Update doesn't actually change.
mattlewisbyi
Arsenal:
Norgaard transfer listed and contract expiring 2024
Raya, white, Kepa, Merino, Mosquera all expiring 2024
Majority of the other players expire 2025, the only first team players with contracts past 2025 are Rice/Timber/Odegaard/Havertz/Gyokeres/Madueke
The same for many other clubs, examples:
Donnarumma contracted to Man City expires 2024 at 125k per week
Mbeumo contracted to Man Utd expires 2024 at 76k per week
Wissa at Newcastle expires 2024 at 39k per week
Etc
Derrenosborn
Its mainly the contract lenghes if you look at brighton gor example most of their contracts run out in 2024 even the new signings the same with alot of clubs
Emphasis
All contract lengths are wrong mate. Ederson, Gündoğan, Donnarumma all have just a year contract left lol
M.C
Thank you for those examples. I will look those up, investigate and see if I can identify what is causing it. Will come back as soon as I am able.

New transfers' contracts expire after 1 year
Baked_Bean2nd
Yesterdays update had contracts right. Todays doesn't. At Forest all new signings only have 1 year deals, and players who have signed new contracts irl like Hudson-Odoi, Aina etc don't have them
M.C
OK. I think I know what has happened.
Firstly, just to confirm: I am able to replicate the issue you've all reported…and there is a logical reason for it. In simple terms, it's an error on the Data Update's side - no-one is doing anything wrong. Apologies for the inconvenience - we'll get it fixed in time for tomorrow's update, I am sure.
As of this morning, we changed the load order of some files. There are two files that can alter the contract details of any given player - which are the main ‘Changes.fmf’ file and the ‘+2 Ages and Contracts.fmf' file.
Historically, the ‘+2 Ages and Contracts.fmf’ file has always been before the ‘Changes.fmf’ file in the load order. This works neatly as the ‘+2’ file essentially offsets the default database's contract of every player by two years. Which is what we want it to do - but only for players who have not been transferred/signed a new contract at any point.
The ‘Changes.fmf’ file then includes the updated contract information for any player who has been transferred and/or signed a new contract. Built into the file is the equivalent two-year offset.
With these files now being read the other way around, the ‘+2’ file is overwriting the contractual position of all the players, resulting in what everyone is seeing.
The solution is to revert the load order, which is something we will do in time for tomorrow's update. There is good reason for putting the ‘Changes.fmf’ file early in the load order - this is just an unintended consequence and we should have also brought the ‘+2’ file up (and before) the ‘Changes.fmf’ file.
For right now, I would recommend using yesterday's Data Update, which can be retrieved via https://sortitoutsi.net/football-manager-data-update/releases.
For those who really can't wait, if you use the attached file instead of the ‘+2 Ages and Contracts’ file, this will put it to the front of the load order and solve the problem. I have tested this and it works as expected.
Just so the instructions are as explicit as possible, you will want to:
1. Go into your ‘Editor Data’ folder that contains the Data Update from 3rd September 2025 and look for the file named either ‘sortitoutsi.net FM24 Data Update - +2 Age and Contract Years.fmf’ or ‘Classic FM - +2 Age and Contract Years.fmf’ and delete only that file.
2. Download the attached file and save it into the ‘Editor Data’ folder that contains the Data Update.
3. Start a new game as you normally would. On the screen where you would select your database version (and where you can choose which Editor Data to enable), you should see that the top two listed files are the ‘+2’ file immediately followed by the ‘Changes’ file. I'm including a screenshot below to illustrate how it should look if you have followed the above steps.

Hi,
I've just downloaded the latest update. Added in a dynamic data 5 and dynamic new player 5 then added it all to the ‘editor data' in sports inc folder like it says in the ‘readme’. Started game and all players look in correct place, but as I've seen above on this forum, all contracts are incorrect. Am I better just waiting for an update tomorrow before starting a new save?
Also I paid £10 when I clicked on fm24 data update. But then when I went to download faces and logos it wanted me to pay £10 again? Was the initial £10 not the membership thing? Sorry I'm new to this….
Thanks in advance!
Joe5p
Another staff member (M.C.) has replied to your post in another thread. Basically, the contract issue is known and will be fixed in the update you can download tomorrow. Price wise, one £10 fee is an annual fee to access the Optional Dynamic Data update. The other £10 fee is an annual member subscription to allow for faster direct download of graphic packs with no need to use mirror sites and download in batches.

Thanks. so the £10 dynamic data means I can download the updates for a year? Including the next game?

Hi There is a problem with salaries, especially in small clubs where salaries exceed $100K.
There is also a problem with staff who all demand salaries of more than $60K, which is impossible for small clubs.
M.C
Specifically on the staff salary demand…isn't that showing that his wage demands are £65k per year (i.e. not per week)? So more like £1.2k per week?
My assumption is that the other salaries you mention are being shown to you, also, per year/annum.
In your position, I'd first check the game settings to see if things are being displayed to you annually. Change that to weekly, if that is what you are used to/measuring it against.

Hello, just a side note…loaded a new save with the data update released on Sept 5 and I noticed Pau Cubarsi release clause is just 2.9m, can this be looked into please
eno_97
Osimhen's wage is wrong. Sane's wage is wrong.
eno_97
The wages are almost all wrong.
M.C
Amending the salaries of players is not a standard feature that this update provides.
All player transfers/contracts are submission driven. I am sure you can imagine that, on a global scale, access to player wages is variable and often not published at all. As all submissions need to be moderated, evidence would need to be provided that confirms the wages for this to be viable. I think this would limit the number of submissions. It would also significantly increase moderation time.
As such, it should be expected that individual player salaries are not updated following transfers. Sometimes, they’ll have a salary set in the PGE and therefore carry that over. Other times, the game will decide.
