To showcase just how much Football Manager has evolved visually, take a look at these two screenshots: one from FM2024 and one from the newly released FM26. The graphical improvements are clear, from more detailed match engines to sharper UI elements. But with those upgrades come increased hardware demands.

Below, we compare the official system requirements listed on Steam for both FM2024 and FM26 to see just how much more power your PC or Mac will need to keep up.

Is Your System Ready for FM26?
- FM26 requires roughly three times more storage (~20 GB vs ~7 GB).
- The CPU requirements have advanced from dual‑core era (Core 2 / Athlon 64 X2) to modern multi‑core (Core i3/i5, Ryzen 5).
- RAM needs jumped notably from 4 GB minimum across both versions to a solid 12 GB recommended for FM26.
- Graphics expectations have similarly escalated, especially on PC—from older integrated or low-end GPUs requiring ~256 MB VRAM to mid-range (RTX 2060 / RX 5600 XT) with higher VRAM (~512 MB+).
- On macOS, FM26’s recommended specs favor Apple’s M1 chip with increased RAM, while FM24 supports earlier Macs with minimal configurations.

I Think thats enough to play FM26 , but at low graphics or 2D

Safe to say running this on a decent laptop with an iGPU is going to be hard now, unless using 2D.
Even the Radeon 890M, which I think is AMD's top iGPU(?) is 60-63% slower than the 5600XT in recommended specs.
I'm not sure I'll return to FM on that basis. It's not something I'd waste time on my desktop with and I've found many other things to play without the great time-hole of FM and I dont want a chunky gaming laptop.

Thank you. I'll test it on release before buying a new PC

Processor is fine.
4GB VRAM 3050 is about 50% slower than a 2060 which irrc is also 6GB VRAM. You might need to lower some graphic settings But it's hard to know at this point whether the recommended settings from sports interactive relate to running everything on max or are merely based on a reasonable performance. This is subjective.
Likewise, 16 GB of RAM is probably sufficient. But 32 GB of RAM doesn't hurt anyone, especially with background processes.

Take a look at the charts here, it's an idea of where a GTX 1660 Super (for example) will stack up against the recommended RTX 2060.
Obviously there's a lot of more detailed benchmarks, but Toms just happens to have something vague with GPU's in and around the 2060 in a chart.
