Introducing Project Classic FM - The biggest update for FM24 and a long goal to keep the old generation of FM alive

I think the answer is ‘very soon’ - although noting that the final decisions around promotions/relegations vary by nation and within each nation the majority aren't quite decided yet all through their national pyramid. The staff are working on nations that officially have finished as a priority and, of course, playable nations are being prioritised above non-playable nations.

As an example, in England, there is still a promotion in to League Two to be decided, with Oldham Athletic and Southend United playing each other on 1st June 2025 in the Natonal League Playoff Final. Until that game takes place, there is no way to finalise the England file. Similar situations exist in many of the European nations, right at this moment in time (for example, Germany similarly has one final promotion into the 3. Liga to be decided).

It is likely to be iterative, in the sense that certain nations will be decided, have their updated file included and then some days later other nations will also be in that position. I do not think we intend to wait until every playable nation has been fully decided before updating all of them, as such.

2 years is meant to start on June 1st.

I still need to work on making sure there's a 1 year version of Jan-Dec countries so TBC on that.

Promotions and relegations will take a few weeks to get all the leagues done.

I am looking at starting a save with AFC Croydon Athletic in tier 8 with your update.

Will this file be compatible with a lower league database?

You can use most of the SortItOutSI Data Update alongside a different data update file - however, you'll need to make a concession around which update's file you enable with respect to the English league.

The SortItOutSI Data Update consists of multiple files. It is arranged in a way that each nation has its own file - in the case of England, the update includes a file that is called ‘England (League)’ in the list of Editor Data Files and that file alters the English structure.

The English Lower League Database custom file will probably consist of a single file of its own. That file will alter the English structure.

Because you can only use one file that alters any given nation's structure at a time, you will want to disable the ‘England (League)’ file when setting up a new game. You can keep all other parts of the SortItOutSI Data Update enabled and, of course, you'll want to ensure the other England Lower League database is also enabled.

This allows you to leverage all of the transfers and updated structures of other nations - but you will get whatever English structure the Lower League Database provides.

Is it possible for me to download a previous version of the classic FM update? I am trying to see if I can start a save in the 24/25 season and then progress onwards but with the newest file some transfers for the 25/26 season have already been made.

Thank you so much, would these only include the data for the regular data updates as opposed to the classic FM update though? If that is the case would it possible to combine some of the files? As in no transfers for the upcoming season but still having the other features of the enhanced update.

@Footygamer When I click older versions it redirects me to pay another £5 to access the file or choose the free update.

Hey, about the dynamic attributies if one player is bad on one save he can still become good player on the same save? and does dynamic atributies happen a lot of players?

Does it still make sense to use the dynamic files I downloaded back in July with the latest transfer update on Fm24? Needless to say I wasted money on Fm26 and will not play that crap.

@kapiten22 there is no reason to use the old dynamic files.

The dynamic nature of the files is baked in now with “live” updates every 20 minutes.

Just whenever you start a new save, grab the latest update and player abilities will be slightly different making your new save unique.

If I want to edit certain attributes, like CA/PA, which file do i edit of all of them?

If you want edit the files don't because they'll be overwritten, simply create a new file with your changes that's named alphanumerically later than ours e.g. by prefixing with ZZZ

Why old Classic Football Manager site is not working/redirecting to Sortitoutsi Football Manager Data Update page?

The old classic FM site was taken down when FM25 was cancelled, the plan is/was to bring it back now but its just taking longer than expected with all the changes surrounding FM26.

Hi, i stopped the subscription after it went through for 2025. I wanted to reactive it now but it says that an unknown error occurs.

Under Shop Orders it says : You already have this! No need to buy it. 
When i want to download a new version i get just the base data update Download, not the Classic addition. 

From my understanding i should still be able to recieve the Classic addition until the 5th of January 2027 when my subscription expires. There seems to be a mistake in the check on the website if someone is eligible for the classic version. 

Would be great if someone can check it. Or at least pm me a current version.
