I Initially downloaded the first version of the update that got released, which didn't have him in there, and then I saw there was another update and downloaded that, and it worked. As long as you've got it in the right location, and when you load a new save, you can see it, then it should work.

Hi, I've installed the data update and prior to the latest FM26 update on Steam everything looked fine, but now the player ID's of the newly added players are mixed up for some reason… for example Max Dowman has the ID (and face img) of newly added player Bernardo Busatori (ID: 2002042572), while Busatori has the ID (and picture) of Francisco Wang in game (ID: 2002042586) and so on… basically every newly added player has the wrong ID?
When I check the fmf file in the pre-game editor the ID's DO match up like they should… this only regards the new players from the latest data update. Is this a known issue? I don't understand where the problem's coming from and how I should fix it… any help would be greatly appreciated!
Edit: I checked and I don't use any other files in editor data that adds new players / edits ID's or anything like that. I tried starting a new career save with everything else turned off but the data update and the player ID's still get mixed up.
Test update: I downgraded from the public_beta FM26 patch to regular patch on Steam and afterwards the ID's were correct again. So problem is caused by the last beta patch… SI at it again! Workaround for anyone encountering this issue: use the regular FM26 patch (downgrade on steam if necessary) → setup your new save completely and save it → quit FM and update via Steam to public_beta patch and restart + load. Now you can play on latest patch with the correct IDs / images. Hopefully this helps someone instead of endless trial and error like me lol - and thanks for all your work to all staff.

Very useful info. But since the Beta branch went to main game this workaround doesn't work any more. I'm seeing the same incorrect ID's as you were in your post. I just manually adjusted Dowman as he's the only one I'm interested in atm.
Mhaghag
The latest data update still has this issue. In contradiction to my first post about this issue; I once again checked the FMF-file of the latest data update and there I saw that the unique ID of Max Dowman (for example) is actually 2002042572 in the data update FMF. While the ID in the facepack (img & config) is 2002042558 (matching Leon Sylejmani in the data update FMF). This is the case for all newly added players.
This mismatch means either the ID's in the ‘Facepack for new wonderkids' download or in the Data Update are incorrect. I tested this just now (nov 16th, 1am) so I'm using the latest available files. Could you please update either one of these files so they match eachother again? Would be wonderful. Thanks in advance!

I think (but not 100% sure…) the problem with the BETA patch is that SI add new players which increases the incremental ID's. You would think that beta patches would only include bug fixes, but for some reason they're updating the database too, probably just an unintentional side effect of their build process.
Unfortunately this makes it very difficult for us as we can't keep producing multiple variations of the data update for different builds whether you're on Steam, Epic, Steam BETA 1, Steam BETA 2 etc.
So for now we're just going to stick to whatever the last non BETA build is and hope that the BETA's will calm down soon.
If you want a more technical answer:

Thanks for your quick response! Totally understand your point and thank you for the explanation aswell, however since there have been multiple (beta) patches since this issue first occured, it looks like SI didn't add any additional new players after the very first post-launch patch. For example, ever since this issue occurred, Max Dowman has ID 2002042572 instead of 2002042558. It's a guess but that probably means there won't be any new players in the next patches either. Which would mean an update to the current ‘New wonderkid facepack' picture ID's would solve the issue for all new saves going forward.
Considering it only changed in the very first patch, you don't need different versions for different builds either. Just one newly updated version, based on the current DB. In this case, would it be an issue you could resolve? Would love to get your take on this and thanks again!

@Mhaghag thanks for trying to help. I've been so busy trying to get everything updated with the new genders I may have missed some things. When I replied before my copy of FM26 had not updated so I assumed you were talking about a BETA build. My copy on Steam has now updated and I can see the new first ID is 2002042490 so i've updated the code to reflect this.
I find it really really helpful if people don't assume knowledge on my part and spell things out to me because i'm jumping between so many different things at once I often get lost or confused.
e.g. in this case I was unaware that an official (non beta) update had gone out because I wasn't seeing it hadn't appeared in Steam for me. This may also have been a timezone / geographic thing.
Please redownload the facepack and check it now.
murraymint
Thanks…works perfectly for me now

Same here, I'm trying to add photos of created players and it's leaving their faces generated as if they were new generation. Even changing their IDs to the ones generated by the game doesn't change anything.
Footygamer
@Eirikhorneland sorry can you describe the steps you're taking in more detail?
It's not clear if you're talking about FM24 or FM26, or if you're using our created players facepack or doing something manually?
Eirikhorneland
I wanted to add the photos of players created in the update, such as Mylan Toty or Tidiane Vidert who play for Saint-Étienne, but their photos don't appear in FM26.
Eirikhorneland
I'm using the photos I have that I uploaded to sortoutsi and that have been cropped by modders.
Footygamer
Mylan Toty and Tidiane Vidert faces do appear to be there. Can you confirm their ID in the game? You may need to enable show unique ID's on player profile in the preferences.
In the facepack
Mylan Toty = 2002044919
Tidiane Vidert = 2002043635
Eirikhorneland
No, we don't have the same ID for both players, and yet I'm getting the FM26 update.
Mylan Total = 2002044917
Tidiane Vidert = 2002043633 I have this ID for them;
it won't work for the other players either.
wonbrz
I have a few thoughts on the update.
After approving a few "new players," a few players are still missing from the game:
Andy Velásquez
Edwin Tumiri
Alfredo Aliaga
Rafael Corrales
Kevin Olah
Dastan Saptaev continues to play in Kairat, being doubled.
Joe5p
Thanks, we are aware of Satpaev and a fix will come. For the others, I can see they were added to the FM24 update, but in the background, there is a process whereby we need (on an individual player basis) to check they are not in FM26, or if they are, align their FM26 UID to the FM24 update profile. For context, the list started at around 3500 I think, and is now down at around 750. For those listed above, I will take a look now and try to update so that they feed into the latest update file if not in FM26. For the other 700 or so, we are getting closer to having checked all submitted players from our FM24 update for inclusion in the FM26 update.
Apart from any errors we encounter that require a specific fix, I am hopeful we will have worked through the above process for the remaining 750 players over the weekend. At the moment, the likes of England, France, Spain, Scotland, Greece, Holland etc are complete (bar errors), getting through about 100 a night just now, as were colleagues looking at it in previous weeks.
EDIT - Other than Stapaev, those listed should now feed into the FM26 update at some stage today or tomorrow. There are another 767 FM24 Update ‘New Players’ to go through the checks, but gradually, they will appear if not in FM26 and submitted for FM24.

What date did you start the game and are you on the BETA track on Steam?
The problem we have is that SI keep making sporadic updates to the database along with their bug fixes (this is stupid, you shouldn't combine the two…)
It's physically impossible for us to set the exact ID of the players, this is a limitation of the game itself, the ID is incremental based on the highest ID in the existing database.
If SI add two new players that means all the ID's increase by 2 and get out of sync which seems to be the case.
This means it's impossible for people to keep updating the facepack without getting out of sync.
e.g.
Monday: You download the update with Vidert 2002043633
Tuesday: SI add two new players to the base game
Wednesday: We update our facepack so all the ID's are 2 higher
Thursday: You download the facepack again and it is now linked with the Wednesday data not the Monday data you started a game with so all the ID's are two players out.
This becomes even worse when some users are on the Steam BETA track and some aren't meaning we don't even know which database different users are using to direct them to different downloads (most users won't know for sure either).
This hasn't happened in previous years, usually the database is finalised in November and then their are two updates in March.
We just have to hope that everything calms down with the bugs and patches over the next few weeks.
wonbrz
Thanks so much for the explanation. It would be great if you could post what you're working on daily.
I really appreciate your work. I try to improve myself by submitting fixes, and such information also helps me better understand what I can check, whether it's correct, and whether there's anything still pending.
Best regards
Footygamer
@wonbrz
I'm pretty sure I fixed Saptaev yesterday so should be fixed in todays update.
The bolivian players also seem like they're sorted now, it may be that @Joe5p or someone else has done them having read your message.
Eirikhorneland
I started on July 7th, however I'm in public beta mode and I downloaded all the updates, but I had suggested some photos for cropping on the site.

Just to respond to this - and I know others have: it's a constantly-moving target in terms of specific players that any of us are working on. I can only speak for myself: I try my best to moderate newly-created player submissions on a daily basis. This keeps the general flow moving.
For obvious reasons, it would be very time-consuming to publish what we're moderating as we do it. That would involve creating posts where we are copy-pasting names into threads to confirm we're approving/rejecting submissions.
As Joe has referred to, as we now have a situation where the concept of newly-created players need to account for their existence across two databases (FM24 and FM26), there is an extra step we need to do. That's a step we're proactively taking and we do have an initial ‘catch-up’ that we need to complete before we're then just doing that task on newly-moderated submissions.
Realistically, the advice for now is that you should expect a short delay between a newly-created player submission being approved and that player appearing in the Data Update. That delay will be variable - it could be an hour, it could be a day or it could be a (small) number of days. I think cataloguing and publishing what we are doing would probably result in the end-to-end process slowing down - so I'm hesitant to do that. Better to get the moderation done quicker and less itemised confirmation along the way than slowing the moderation down but telling everyone each moderation step we're doing.
It should also be noted that since the launch of FM26, how we go about handling the co-existence and all of the details is a work-in-progress. We're discovering new situations that we need to make adjustments to handle continuously. I do often think we could communicate what we're doing more but, as mentioned, I also think we'd then be doing less each day and I think the majority of people who consume our data update just want the data to be as up-to-date as possible, as quickly as possible. All that being said, we're extremely grateful for the regular contributors because without those submissions in the first place, the data update isn't the comprehensive offering it would be.
wonbrz
Thank you so much for such comprehensive answers.
I hope I wasn't misunderstood, as this request wasn't meant as a grudge. On the contrary, I admire how much you work to get the best daily updates, for which I thank you again.
I thought it would be a simple daily note to help some people understand how much you're working on. But of course, I understand that given the sheer volume of things, it's pointless 🙂
P.S. Saptaev is still duplicated (today's file), if that helps you in any way with your files.
Footygamer
Sorry I meant what date did you start the game in real life, as in XX November 2025.
But either way it doesn't really matter, it is clear that your names are all 2 numbers out, so the only fix is to modify the facepack config to change all the
to=""section to point to a number two less.If that makes no sense to you that's understandable.
Unfortunately we're battling against SI's constant updates and there's not alot we can do to try and make everything work for everyone across all versions they're releasing. Your only other option would be to start a new save and make sure you grab the facepack and the data update at the same time you start your save.
Footygamer
@Eirikhorneland just to help you out I did a quick update via chat gpt.
Just replace the config.xml in the new player facepack folder with the attached one.
If it isn't working try redownloading the FM26 facepack and then adding this config.xml
This is the prompt I used:
Footygamer
I'm sorry I can't see this and your typos make me think that maybe that's where the misunderstanding is happening.
Can you please provide screenshot proof of the duplication so I can try and understand where the confusion is?
Here is what i'm seeing with the latest file.
wonbrz
You're welcome
Eirikhorneland
21 novembre i use beta public and update of sortitoutsi
Footygamer
Okay now it's actually fixed.
People getting the “live” update should see the fix already, other users will see it in tonights update.
Eirikhorneland
It gives them the faces of new people.
Eirikhorneland
Do I need to remove the public beta?
