Following the release of our latest update on 15 December, we want to outline what’s next for FM26.

We anticipate resuming updates in the middle of January with planned releases approximately every 2–3 weeks*. Although we have already made significant progress with performance, polish and quality-of-life improvements, and overall player engagement is strong across platforms, we recognise that some player issues persist.

In particular, there are ongoing concerns from some new and existing players around various aspects of the UI and navigation and we’re taking all feasible steps to improve both, as we have done already with the half-time and post-match screens in the latest PC/Mac update.

We're also rolling out tweaks to media and additional features to improve immersion. Pass maps are nearly there, and we’re also looking at more areas that will enhance that ‘connected world’ feeling.

Following the completion of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ Qualifiers at the end of March, an improved International Management module will follow thereafter in a free update, with the remaining official tournament assets likely coming later following the release of final tournament kits. Our normal Winter Transfer updates (Feb & Mar) will dovetail with the above updates, with exact dates to be confirmed in due course.

We are also aware of recent community discussions about additional game modes. While we’re not ready to reveal details just yet, you can expect a separate announcement on future initiatives shortly, which signals our ongoing commitment to further development in this area.

We understand that the changes highlighted above won’t address every player’s concerns. Please be assured that all your comments, suggestions and requests are being thoroughly examined, as has been the case throughout the history of the franchise. We remain committed to listening and responding, through ongoing updates and in future iterations of the game.

Everyone at SI is working tirelessly to deliver the improvements needed to enhance your experience further. Thank you for your continued support and for helping us shape our future direction.

*Our aim is fortnightly but will be subject to the internal QA and submissions process and will differ by platform.

Nice to hear, but still no recognition that they released a game that was far from complete.

instead of paying £40 we should be paying monthly

sounds like the game won’t be complete until Q2-26

Weve paid 45 quid to play Fm27 or 28 Beta basically! Miles Jacobson should be sacked for this disgrace of a game!

Well, what can I say? I think most of the fans' disappointment has to do with the shutdown of the 2025 version project. Actually, it was expected that, since version 2025 was discontinued, version 2026 would be more polished and less dependent on future updates. Of course it's understandable, there were changes in practically all the game's systems, which, naturally, is no excuse for the 2026 version to have been released with as many problems as we saw it had.

Looking forward to interesting things in the future, but, I mean, since I'm not playing the 26 version myself, since I'd like to customise some basic settings (such as shortcuts, which are still strange for me) and it's not possible yet, I'll simply wait. Right now, it's unplayable for me in particular.
