Can someone please help me - i'm a complete newb when it comes to modding FM.

So, i've installed the newgen package (the basic ‘bundle’ not mega) which means i've gone to preferences/detailed/audio visual and checked the boxes for ‘show pictures of playes etc…’ and ‘use pre-gen pics…. etc'   this now means all my existing newgens are now blank, so i'm guessing i have to wait for the next batch of youngsters for the newgens to appear with realistic faces?  is this right / normal ??

but I also want to add my own face to a newgen already existing.  so, i created my image as a 180x180 png and placed it into a folder i created in ‘documents/sports interactive/football manager 26/graphics’  (i created the graphics folder).  I labelled the image with the ID number of the player and then used FMl to create a config file.  Everything looks in order, but the player continues to be blank.

I keep reading that i need to reload skin, but I cannot see that anywhere - does this apply to older versions of fm or am i missing something.

Everything I've read so far say's about creating the folder graphics in the location i have, but does FM know to look in this folder?  if FM26 does still need to have skin reloaded for this to work, then where is it as i cannot find ‘use caching to decrease page loading time’ and ‘reload skin when confirming changes’ anywhere.

really would appreciate any help or advise on this this - it's got to the point of driving me potty.

Thanks, Craig

What is FMl?

If you are going to ask for help it's best if you give as much information as possible, such as actually pasting the contents of your config.xml, to make it easier for other people to help you.

The configs for newgens these days require r- at the front of the id, so you probably need to edit the config.xml to include that assuming whatever FMI is doesn't already do that.

e.g. if you have “john doe.png” with id 1234567

<record from "john doe" to="graphics/pictures/person/r-1234567/portrait"/>
