a) Open Finder
b) Click “Go” from the menubar and select “Go to Folder” (alternatively press Shift+CMD+G)
c) Copy in the following: ~/Library/Application Support/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 26
d) Open the “editor data” folder (or created it if it doesn't exist)
e) Move the downloaded files into the ”editor data" folder

Just wondering as it was posted 13 days ago over there, but I've been waiting on an update as there's some duplicate teams and issues with promotions/relegations to the wrong places (as has been pointed out in the download comments section over there). There will always be 2 or 3 teams who go into the wrong leagues, it's just the game isn't clever enough plus it isn't designed to go down that far in the levels!
But this is the latest file as they updated the pre-game editor

This file corrupted my save to the point where a few in-game months in I noticed that all top EPL clubs (Arsenal, City, Liverpool, Utd, Spurs and Chelsea) have been placed in the lowest league. Real bummer. We should add a warning at the top that this sort of thing could happen. Better than saying “all teams in the correct divisions”. I think someone above has posted a screenshot of this happening. You'd expect a small bug, but every single team going to the bottom is pretty bad.

Worked out it was a realism mod from steam workshop had to through all the mods to find out which one it was also it might have been the balloon dor fix from steam workshop

It's a great mod the lower league one I've made a few changes in the pre game editor more subs for lower leagues and my league 2 has 3 relegations instead of 2

It was a ball ache going through every mod I've got like 200 loaded so did them in bulk 10 mods at a time to see which ones were messing it up a few steam workshop ones can cause a conflict on my game for some reason I can't get the Austrian league to load different mods different Austrian databases the league just won't populate with teams I use the default one for Austria I gave up I do like a mod I can't help it used over 400 in FM 24 took a few weeks to get it to run when it did it was so much fun FM 26 is less fun I wud say some things are improved but the UI is a pain and I do like a stadium picture and a manager picture

Does anyone have this problem? I created a folder called ‘editor data’ in the FM26 one and added the downloaded FMF file. However, when I go into the game, there are no databases available, and no custom editor data is found. Am I missing something obvious here and doing something wrong?

Unfortunately, that's not the correct location for the ‘editor data’ folder. Whilst that is your installation location (when using Steam), the ‘editor data’ folder needs to be housed elsewhere.
Specifically, within your ‘Documents’ folder, you need the following folder structure: \Sports Interactive\Football Manager 26\editor data\
You should see that if you browse to Documents, everything up to ‘Football Manager 26’ exists, so you may just need to create that final ‘editor data’ folder. Put the FMF file in there and the game should recognise it.
