Hi everyone 👋

 

I’m one of the people behind FM Companion, an AI-powered tool built specifically for Football Manager players, and I wanted to open up a proper discussion with the FM community.

 

The platform is still very much community-led, and we genuinely want feedback from real FM players — both positive and negative. What works, what doesn’t, what feels useful, what feels frustrating, and what you think is missing.

 

This isn’t a promo post.


We’re actively using feedback from the community to improve:

 

  • Tactical analysis & clarity
  • Player recommendations
  • Feature usability
  • FM accuracy (roles, instructions, in-game logic, etc.)

 

If you’ve tried FM Companion, I’d really appreciate your honest thoughts.


If you haven’t, I’m still interested in what you’d expect from a tool like this — or why you might avoid one.

 

The goal is to build something that actually helps FM players, not just something that sounds good on paper.

Hi, I'm currently using FM Companion and I think it's a great project with potential for development. In my opinion, the greatest potential lies in the development of the tactical lab module. I'd like the tactical advice to be more specific, as it's currently too general.

For example, in FM24, I used this tool to assign player roles: https://ratemytactic.web.app/en  It would be nice to adapt something similar, taking into account in-possession and out-possession tactics and adapting to the new roles in FM26. Team instructions could also be more specific. For example, in previous editions of FM, I used a calculator I created to assign team instructions. It calculated how each player's attributes supported a given team instruction based on the position of each player in the XI. I created it based on this guide: https://www.guidetofm.com/tactics/team-instructions/

I've been receiving feedback on how well attributes for specific positions support each team instruction, and which instructions to avoid because they don't reflect the players' preferences and attributes. I think something similar could be adapted for FM26, taking into account the new team instructions. I'll definitely be following the project's further development. Best regards.
