The next game update for FM26 is scheduled to be released* on Monday 19th January on Steam, Epic and Microsoft Store. The key changes for this update are global navigational enhancements, a new-look Stages screen, functionality fixes to column sorting and a host of stability fixes.
For FM26 Console and FM26 Touch (Apple Arcade) players, an update will roll out to those respective platforms next week. This update will be a larger than typical update as it will contain two updates worth of fixes. A full changelist will be shared upon release.
An update to FM26 Touch (Nintendo Switch) will follow at a later stage, with a clearer timeframe shared soon.
As outlined previously, work continues to deliver further changes and improvements to FM26. Future updates are to be expected at 2–3 week intervals*.

FM26 Update 26.1.2 Changelist (selected items)
Fixed game freezing when using Instant Result during hotseat mode.
Redesigned ‘Stages’ and ‘Season Preview’ tile to be full screen.
Further navigation enhancements, including additional drop-down options in the main and secondary nav bars.
Improved functionality of customising/rearranging column placement on the first team squad view.
Tweaks to the amount of money spent on ageing players by Premier League/High Profile clubs.
I know it's not a major update but from the fixes they highlighted it seems quite small-bore when there are still major design/stability/performance problems. Somewhat underwhelming
The one positive of FM26 is that it’s rekindled my enjoyment of fm24. The UI hurts my eyes on MacBook so I’ve gone back to 24 and I’m appreciating it more!
alright matey, i agree with others, it has refreshed my personal use of FM24, also rebooted CM01/02 with 25/26 data, which is great fun (Uni flashbacks when i was meant to studying and not taking York City on a european journey)
Is it naive to hope that the SI team will now really step on the gas for 2026 and surprise us in a positive way? If it's really all about profitability and numbers, then that's precisely why it would be a tactical move for the company to deliver quality now, rather than resorting to marketing gimmicks. That would be truly desirable.
any idea when the next update will be? will they be doing more bug fixes and stability improvements or will we have to wait for those in the big winter window update in March?

As of 2024–2025, PC gaming has a larger player base, with an estimated 907.5 million to 908 million PC gamers worldwide, compared to approximately 629.5 million to 653 million console gamers. Nothing to do with console players. Way more money to be made in pc. Crazy there not been charged with fraud selling a game thats not playable and extremely lacking compared to the others football managers. I miss lma and total club manager.

i keep going back to my fully immersive 24 saves, seems much more realistic
26 is all about the fifa style match engine but the simulation is awful

I don't mind the match engine so much but the UI needs rethink I'm thinking off starting FM 24 back up
