Sorting out the FM26 transfer updates to squad

Hi guys,

 

Was wondering if someone could help me please. I am excited to be popping back onto FM again after Christmas and the New Year and wanted to update the database with the January transfers. I downloaded the relevant files and extracted them into the files as seen in the instructions even following a video which was shown on the website for FM23 or FM24. Am I just missing something because when I load the game and start a new game the only database available is the one which is provided at the start of the FM26 life cycle.
