I would like to know if it is possible to change/replace/modify the patterns of the 3d fields (Fm23)

(specifically I would like to be able to replace these two textures)

Are you wanting to replace them with designs already in the game or a new design?

Both, if that were possible, but I have no idea 😒

On fm 20 or 21 I had arrived at this folder

This is a screenshot of a backup file of the original files present in the game.. at the time, I simply tried to replace the two patterns that I didn't like with others, I didn't get any results, everything remained unchanged.. disheartened and not knowing if I was taking the right steps, I let it go and I no longer tried to do anything by restoring the original files.

In short, I absolutely do not like the two patterns present in the image of the post, if possible, I would like to eliminate them definitively... it is a desire that I have always had, as I told you I tried in the past without any result, but lately this desire has become presented again and I wondered if I was really the only one who wanted to "edit - create" something along these lines 😆

As my first and only wish, I would like to know if it is possible to replace them with others already present, perhaps renaming them... I tried in the past but it didn't work.

Then.. since we're talking about "Graphics".. if it were possible, I would also like to be able to "open" these files and perhaps create "hairstyles" myself to insert into the game by replacing the ones present.

And finally.. I would like to know if once a save has started, it was possible to change these patterns within the save itself.. this especially in relation to new stadiums, for example created during careers with small clubs from lower divisions that need for regulation of larger stadiums. In any case this wouldn't be a big problem, if it were possible to remove the unwanted "patterns" already at the beginning of the save, there would be no possibility of a stage being created with one of the two patterns I would like to eliminate 😁

For all this, if you know how to help me, I refer to Fm23

Ha, yes I feel the same way, especially about those vertical striped pitches - Horrible!  I like my stipes horizontal, like on TV!  Anyway yes it's very possible.  A picture tells a thousand words. I'm on FM24, I think it was simpler to change on FM23.  Anyway hope this helps, let me know if you're stuck:

That's right, even after years I never got used to some of the "field hairstyles" proposed by SI 😅

And anyway.. No, I looked but I have no reference to the folder you showed me 😟 I also tried to search (Fm23) for the textures folders but I can't find it, I also enabled the display of hidden folders but I can't find them... either I'm looking in the wrong place or they are no longer visible. I uninstalled the old Fm, so I don't know where to check.

To the path .. Documents / Football Manager 2024 [2023 for me] / I don't have any folder called "art" - shared texture etc etc

I think you will have to write me something more specific because I can't find anything at the moment

Edit

Ok, I found a guide (for fm18 https://community.sigames.com/forums/topic/429954-fm18guide-how-to-replace-the-pitch-textures/) but somehow I recovered through the Resource Archiver the folder I think you are referring to, but I only have the "default" files

none of what you have. I don't know how to create them or where to download them and according to what logic or order to replace or replace the ones I don't want.
You will have to help me with this

I think you're trying to make this more complicated than it is.  I will try to explain.  You have the folder with the “default” files.  In your documents/sports interactive/football manager folder create a folder called “art” put the “shared textures” folder in that.

Now say you want all the pitches to be “vertical stripes” copy “vertical stripes” and rename it “circles” or whichever you want to replace.  Do this for all files named “vertical stripes”.

Ah ok.. I'll try. I admit though that I was worried about the number of files I saw in your image 😂 .. I thought I would have to have all those files too to get the desired result 👍

If I remember correctly there are less files in FM23,

That's probably it.. I thought I needed to download more files. So did you also just rename the files or did you have to (or wanted to) modify the pattern files? (I see your 24 files colored, but maybe it's just a default difference compared to previous editions of the game).

I discovered the sounds folder.. do you know about it? Do you by any chance know if it is possible to insert and activate other intros, such as those of other leagues or for example add music after goals?

Yes, so say you want to replace “circles” with vertical stripes.  Delete “circles”, create a copy of “vertical stripes” and rename it “circles”

I believe there are sound mods out there, but I've never used them.

Let me help revive this thread a bit - as I think that this topic of green grass patterns on the pitch is something we all think about. How can we not think about it as we observe match after match?  The last comment above was made on 21 May 2024.  That forum commenter referenced a resource named  â€œFez's Enhanced Turf Textures FM24 v5 -  New enhanced look of grass textures for Football Manager 2024.”  The short summary is “better turfs.”  Is this so?

This mod/file appears to have had a lot of downloads since its origin date of 7 November 2023.  Please then let me ask of forum members here:  Might you have experience with this FM game add-on and do you find it to be an improved view of stadium pitches?  It's approximately 58MB in size as a file.  Is it an improvement on the FM24 original pitches we see during gameplay? If you have used it, would you recommend it to others?  And, if so, why?  Thank you in advance to those reading this post. Cheers.

Thank you, Priority76, for helping/suggesting/offering ways to work-around the aesthetics of, yes, what can/might be called more ugly pitch patterns.  Ah, I guess in today's world, one can call it simply being ‘too priviledged’ when one has preferences & wishes for better pitch patterns.  But perhaps it's like art:  There are subjective and objective assessments.  For what it's worth, I only find the big circles pitch pattern unappealing.  (And it seems to be what I always get 😉  Too bad we cannot get the groundskeeper to “relay the pitch” and obtain a preferred stadium grass cut pattern, eh?

@priority76 Hi, do you know of a way to remove snow effect from field textures? (fm23 or 24)

Too bad...
Is it possible to change this in the editor? Are there percentages or probabilities that the snow effect will appear in matches?

Humberto, as I read your post from one month ago in January, the easy answer to what (I think) you are asking on 2 January is:  â€œYes.”    I suggest this for you:  Weather data edits in your game's pre-game editor.  Maybe just make your club's city the very same weather/climate as Miami, Florida USA like for Lionel Messi and his pink flamengos team with Jordi Alba and Busquets.  Or Sevilla, maybe Napoli or a Brasilian city.  Probably lots of rain days for matches in places like Miami but likely very little snow days.  I hope I understood you correctly.

Seems like a guy with the name of majesticeternity used to like to create better FM weather data mods, yes?  If he is still around, he would surely be the expert to know how to avoid snow match days.  But I should think it is as simple as changing your city's climate/weather in the pre-game editor. Yes?  Or creating your very own unique spring/fall/summer/winter weather pattern in the Pre-Game Editor and linking that to your desired club's host city.

Reasoning of how FM's database is constructed would link rain/precipitation days with the celcius temperature days.   Remove more lower celcius days during autumn/winter and the liklihood of snow decreases. Yes?  Perhaps this helps.   Cheers.

But why miss out on the greater drama possibilities of a snow blizzard match like the Canadian Cup final of just three months ago in 2025?  đŸ™‚    See the video highlights courtesy of CPL Soccer.  It's on YouTube. Maybe you can get a player you manage to do what the Man of the Match did in his very dynamic first goal easier in the more unusual snowfall game?  The first half is a blizzard.  For those who have not seen it, it was played in Ottawa, Canada 9 November 2025.  Atletico Ottawa against Cavalry FC.   Looks like a whole lot more fun for everyone, players, fans, and camera media teams too.
