FM26 Has Been Updated

FM26 was just updated on March 30th which will have broken many skins so you may have to wait for the author to update this file.

This is a generic message applied to all FM26 Skins, check the comments for more accurate information.

Last Edited: 13th March (v4.0)

Note: This skin is built to my own personal spec. I also work alongside Darkside and Luke on skins so I know about the features in their skins. Help and support available on https://discord.gg/Dr9gaChvRG. The Skin Builder version is no longer included within the download package following an incident where someone took the skin and tried to claim it as their own on Sortitoutsi. A skin builder version is available to Patrons. Any request to 'revert' will be ignored.

Here we are, the first release of a skin I've ever done! Thanks to Lotsgon and his excellent Skin Builder tool, we have been able to edit not only colours but also tile layouts, giving the game a fresh feel and making things a little bit easier to see. A version with default colours is also available.

Bundle Text Tutorial

For those who don't want to make any changes to the skin, there is the option for a copy-and-paste install.  In the download folder, you will find a 'Copy + Paste' folder which will contain bundle files.  One set of bundles is for the dark skin and the other is for the default colours with the changed layouts.

Choose which one you want to use and copy all of the bundle files. Then paste them into your game installation files.  The default location for PC Steam users is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 26\fm_Data\StreamingAssets\aa\StandaloneWindows64. You will be prompted to replace files; do this.  The MAC file location will differ; to find it, in the Football Manager folder, you need to right-click the Football Manager icon and click ‘show package contents’ . The files will then show up.  From there, navigate to the bundles folder as above.

It is also good practice to make a backup of anything you replace before installing.

FM Skin Builder Install (Inactive for now)

IMPORTANT

Whenever a patch is announced, restore to the original game files before the patch is rolled out and downloaded. This will mean the Skin Builder tool always uses the most up-to-date default files.

To do this on Steam, right click on Football Manager 26, click properties, installed files then choose Verify Integrity of game files

This installation method is for anyone who fancies making changes to the skin.  There will be a tutorial video coming out for this soon, which I'll link as soon as I have it.

The first thing you need to do is download the FM Skin Builder tool that can be found here https://fmskinbuilder.com. Make sure to always download the latest beta version. Help and support for using the tool can be found in the FM Matchlab Discord here: https://discord.com/invite/Dr9gaChvRG

To do this, make sure beta is highlighted, then go ahead and download the installer and run it.

Once installed and run for the first time, the program should create a skins folder in your Documents folder (Documents\FM Skin Builder\skins).

Download the skin zip file below, unzip and copy the MrTini23 v1.0 Skin folder from the Skin Builder version folder.  Then go over to the skins folder inside the FM Skin Bulder folder and paste the skin here.

With that copied, open up the skin builder tool, which by default is installed in C:\Program Files\FM Skin Builder.

The first thing to do will be to make sure the tool is finding the bundle files it needs. To do that click on the cog bottom left.

Locate the Game Bundles Directory and click browse.  You then need to select the folder where the FM bundles are located.  Typically on PC this is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 26\fm_Data\StreamingAssets\aa\StandaloneWindows64

Once that has been selected, click on explorer at the top left.

Click on open skin and select the MrTini23 skin.

The skin will then be loaded.  I won't go into how to edit it here, since the tutorial video will cover that.  We'll skip to installing.

To install, click on build on the left-hand side.

Then click build on the top right and the tool should build the skin.

The tool will take a minute or two to build the skin files.  Now make sure FM is closed! Once it is done, click apply to game and you are ready to play FM with a fresh look and feel!

Hello, I don't know if it's a problem with the skin or the game itself, but here it is. When a player wins for their national team and we receive that information, a red ball appears along with the result. But in reality, they won the game. It gives the impression that they lost the game, and that's not what happened.

Definitely not something the skin would cause to my knowledge.  I've not touched any part of that

These are messed up by SI all over the place, potentially showing wrong… Not only for international Games but league games as well…

Hello. Thank you for your hard work. I have a suggestion. Instead of providing all the files in a single file, what if you separated them like a Mac PC, so that the size of the file we download would be reduced

Hey Mister ;-)
In the latest update, you've significantly increased the size of the player profile popup when you hover over the "i".

This is certainly intentional, but I'm quite surprised.

This popup would seem more useful if it condensed the most important information while remaining a normal-sized popup.
What we're primarily looking for in this popup is a quick overview, at least that's my perspective ;-)
From my point of view, the default popup is the right size; it just needs customization to provide all the necessary information. This includes the information already present in the default popup, along with form over the last 5 matches, pros and cons, match ratings, etc.

I must have missed the memo where it told me I work for you. As the disclaimer says “Note: This skin is built to my own personal spec.”. Either use another skin or better yet, visit the FM Skin Builder website and build your own

Speaking for myself, I only commented because I'm just starting to play the game seriously and it could be the skin. I decided to start playing with this skin; I didn't check if it was a game problem. But honestly, when people comment here, I think it's to try and improve things. You only do it if you want to, and although it's your personal preference when you share, I think you could accept our suggestions or even criticism. We appreciate you making the skin available, but I don't think anyone here has treated you badly or your work badly. Thank you.

Even though not my thread…

I think you could accept our suggestions or even criticism” - and that's were you are dead wrong. It's fairly easy - you don't like something? Feel free to make your own changes - the tool is available. And yes, that would be possible, at least for basic things like background replacements or potentially even layout changes.

However, that would require some effort needed to be put into, some basic learning how things work and understand them - something a lot of people obviously refuse nowadays.

It was all there in the beginning, we shared our complete work as Skinbuilder templates, so pretty much all “secrets” had been open.

What happened? Within no time it was stolen, copy/pasted and sold as “new skin” of some of those people. So we stopped sharing it, as we don't support that someone just takes the work we have put hundreds of hours into and claim it being their work. Pretty much as a “proof of concept” eversince not much new skins have shown up, guess why…

So people coming into our threads and start “demanding” changes or masking it behind questions like "why this or that thing isn't in the skin” are tiring in the beginning and annyoing after a while… Because there might be one thing you don't see. It's not only here within a thread, it's in PM's, on X, in discord, or Patreon which some creators have.  So don't be surprised if sooner or later creators might just stop doing what we're doing…

But back to your “I think you could accept our suggestions or even criticism” - the answer is no. We don't need to do that… as Tini has said already, we do skins like WE (the creators) like them and gladly share them with the community. But that's about it…

dont be driven away by the odd BellEnd mate, there are 3 types of poster on here

1.) those that just browse

2.) those that take the work done by modders and complain, without being able to do it themselves, and

3.) those of us that are in awe of the modding community and really appreciate the work, particularly this year with the inflexible coding by SI

I for one (and many others) are appreciative of your work and polishing a game that was not fit for purpose, the game in Feb26 is a far cry from our initial experiences in Oct 25, with a base, bug ridden, ugly game-your work has been a major part of that fix for tens of thousands of players

Keep it up matey

Tbh it's not here that's the problem really, most go about it the right way but when i can't have a day off without getting DMs and comments saying “why isn't this in the skin?” “Can you add this?”  “This skin is shit because X isn't in it” Baring in mind the X requested today isn't even posssible in the game.

This is draining and just demotivating. I'd rather spend my time on my retro databases

I gave my opinion without intending to attack anyone. I spoke in a calm and constructive tone. When I said I accept our suggestions, I'm not saying you're obligated to do so. Just read it if you want and analyze whether it's worthwhile or not. I don't think anyone said it's written that they work for the people here.

Hi MisterTini Dark
I wasn't aware you were receiving so much harassment...
I'm sincerely sorry if I offended you.
I've been playing FM for almost thirty years and I've always felt that what makes this game so strong is its community!
My only goal was to give my personal opinion and share it, but without any obligation on your part, just an opinion.

And I've always said that your work is fantastic and that I thank you for the time you've put in. Your two skins are exceptional and make the game enjoyable again, it's great! All the best to you guys and thanks again for all your hard work and patience :-)
