Hi,

I'm creating a DB with a lot of very young players, because I'd like to see them in future since they're real. But there's the ‘regen problem’: I know I can't make the game stop creating year by year, but how can I make the game create less?

Thank you in advance!

Hi,

I'm creating a DB with a lot of very young players, because I'd like to see them in future since they're real. But there's the ‘regen problem’: I know I can't make the game stop creating year by year, but how can I make the game create less?

Here's a question:

Say, if you do limit the number of regens in your game, what happens when those young players you create get old?

It's a matter of the “ecosystem” within your game…

On the other hand, even if you don't touch the number of regens, since the players you create should be more superior… the subpar regens will “drop out” from the game naturally: released, nobody signs them, then disappear from the game (they would appear at “Transfer History”, but you're no longer able to inspect their profiles)…

In summary, the regens will probably never present a “threat” to the youngsters you create. It may not be necessary to disturb the “ecosystem” at all.

After all, the above is just an observation. You may do an experiment: Simulate a few games for seasons, and see if this is the “world” you want.

Anyway, for reference: https://community.sports-interactive.com/forums/topic/561489-number-of-regens/

Ok, thank you very much

For me, I'd try the best to avoid being “intrusive” to the game system and risk disturbing the balance within the game... A crash is the last thing I want.

Of course, this is your game… so, by all means, do anything you like. I'm interested in how to implement and what happens… if you do what you plan to do. Please report back then.

P.S.

Just think of one more issue:

You're trying to get rid of those youngsters, who are subpar at your level. However, they're actually decent players at lower leagues…

When you reduce the number of them entering the game every season, that could cause fewer players available for lower league teams… in theory. This may upset the balance of the entire ecosystem.

Better experiment first… simulate a few seasons and see what the game becomes.
