I've not played FM since FM21, but returned (for better or worse) to FM26. Did a first save with my favourite club, but after a season it already feels like a procession.

So I decided to start with no badges, no experience (i.e. worst possible manager stats) and took charge of amateur club Diegem, favorites for relegation in the third division in Belgium, to give me (on paper) a tougher experience.

Half a season gone and my record is W16 D2 L0. And honestly, I haven't even really tried. Set up a bog standard 4-2-3-1 gegenpress and signed almost exclusively unattached Belgians or players from amateur competitor clubs, so no OP signings either. I'm really not trying to flex, but it just feels too easy.

I am genuinely looking for a tougher experience in the first few seaons as every game eventually becomes a procession.

Is playing in Gibraltar and winning the CL really the only tough challenge out there? (And tbh I don't have the patience for that grind either).
