If you’re a Steam user, a private branch for FM26 is now available which allows you to start a new save using a custom database.
This option is currently accessed through Steam’s beta/branch system and requires a specific access code.
How to Access the FM26 Private Branch
Follow the steps below to opt into the branch:
- Open Steam.
- Right-click FM26 in your game library.
- Click Properties.
- Navigate to Game Versions / Betas.
- Enter the following access code: vGBxnWQKvaxUnDze
- Click Opt In.
Once you have opted in, Steam will update your game to the private branch.
What This Allows You To Do
After switching to the private branch, you should now be able to:
- Start a new save
- Use a custom database
This can be particularly useful for players who want to experiment with custom setups, updated data, or community databases when beginning a new career.
💡 If you run into issues, try restarting Steam or verifying that the correct branch has been selected in the Game Versions / Betas section.

Thank you for this, i have been waiting to use a custom database, and this one is working for me, but Si did release another update today.

Have you already uploaded any old db file to a new save, and did it work? I'm at work and can only test later
