4-3-3 / 4-1-4-1 Data Built Formation
My Data Built 4-3-3 / 4-1-4-1 Formation has taken a while to create. I have used data from all my tactics over both FM24 and FM26.
I have also used some of the most successful formations and tactics from FM24 and FM26 in my research looking for the best and most consistent team and player instructions along with the best formation how many DM's or inside forwards work best or what type of CB works best etc. I have also added the training schedules and set pieces to the download file. I will add player instructions below because they have also be researched to find out which instructions work best with each position and player role. Just add the files in the download file to their files in Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 26. Any questions just leave a comment and i will reply as soon as i can.

I would imagine the win percentage would be higher if it wasn't a bit of a struggle turning Parma into a top side thats where a lot of my losses and draws came from.

Hi there, I’m really looking forward to trying out this tactic. I’m trying to work some magic with a pretty low-key squad myself. I didn’t see the set-piece tactics—could you share the link? My assistant is handling the training sessions. Also, could you share the full player stats after a full season so I can analyze the scoring distribution?

When you load the set pieces you have to “Load All Routines”. I'm not sure how to get an image of previous seasons of my squad but i'm near the end of my current season so i'll add one when i finish.

Ignore the RST tabs i always rest my starting players 1 or 2 days after a match depending on how close together matches are. Also i had a striker change in January so he only has a few goals.

Yep the one that i uploaded is the correct one with the positive mentality. The attacking one was uploaded by accident as its one i'm testing with attacking mentality and direct passing in the championship with Middlesbrough.

The file here is the "attack" file, and the file you said you tested seems to be different. Could you please update it with the correct file? I’m sorry for the trouble I caused. If it’s easier, we can also communicate directly via email.

The one that is on the website is the correct one I’ve just downloaded it and tested it. Delete the one you have and download it again and see which one you get.

can you try it with a very low defensive line maybe it'll be better because it's the meta in 2026

The tactic seems good, so I'm testing it, but everyone keeps taking long-range shots, which disrupts the flow of the game.

I have been using this, and it's great. Good work mate, what do you do if you get a player sent off and also what about when you want to keep a lead?

When A player gets sent off i usually just go strikerless and fill in the position the player got sent off. As for keeping a lead i don't normally change anything.

Thanks mate one other question i find I'm playing well and getting a ridiculous amount of chances but not scoring well like 17 shots on target and winning 1or 2 nil any suggestions

I Still have the same problem although when I was Chelsea and had SAMU up front he scored 40+. I noticed it changed after one of the updates.

Am I right in saying your set-piece file is just for attacking corners? Or am I missing something?

They should all be in there. And remember to put your best header of the ball marking near centre On corners.

So do you think the match engine is broken as just had a game 28 shots on goal opposition 3 shots final score 0_0 seems to happen quite often if you find out why post up would be very interested.

Do you stick with positive mentality when playing away from home?

Yes. I tried changing to attack when at home against a weaker team but it just ended up we had more shots but the score was no different than when on positive.
