York City: Yorkshire's Athletic Bilbao

York City to Adopt a Yorkshire-Only Transfer Policy Inspired by Athletic Bilbao
In a bold and symbolic move, York City F.C. have announced their intention to implement a revolutionary new recruitment policy to only sign players born or developed in Yorkshire.
The move, spearheaded by new owners Matt Uggla and Julie-Anne Uggla, is inspired by Athletic Club Bilbao of the Basque nation, who are world-renowned for their Basque-only philosophy. The Ugglas believe that by focusing exclusively on Yorkshire talent, York City can become a beacon for regional pride and a powerful platform for homegrown players and will financially back the policy.
"Yorkshire is one of the most culturally rich, diverse, and proud regions in the UK," Matt Uggla stated during a press conference unveiling the policy. "There’s a distinct identity here — in the people, in the history, and certainly in the football. We believe York City can and should be a standard-bearer for that."

Eyes on promotion
Wasting no time in financially backing the team, York City FC's ownership have brought in several well known names in Yorkshire to help propel them up the leagues. The star amongst them is premier league winner and non league icon Jamie Vardy who has agreed a deal until 2026 after being released from Leicester City. As part of the deal he has also joined the ownership contingent along with Neil Warnock.
Yorkshire natives Jonathan Hogg, Alex Smithies, Jack Hunt, Sonny Bradley and Ben Gibson have all also signed on to join the Vanarama National League side.

Yorkshire youngsters
Not resting on their laurels in relying on old pros to get them up the leagues, York City are determined to build one of the best academies in the region to attract local talent and give local players from bigger club's academies the opportunity to shine in Yorkshire.
Leeds native and Liverpool Academy hot shot Oakley Cannonier has already been recruited among others to try to bolster the squad and blend youth and experience.

I'm interested to see how people are making on with this database.
I always enjoy challenges on FM with restrictive transfer policies and I'm enjoying playing my own save.
Feel free to share your own experiences here in the comments.

Late seeing this but I think this might be caused by the "Based Nation" of the club being Yorkshire which is required in order to get the restriced nationality signings method to actually work but there might be an option in the advanced rules to add a registration rule to make Yorkshire players homegrown in England.
