Not fussed about what league to start in but I've take lower league teams from Italy and Germany to the top recently so would probably sway towards using a different nation.
Not too bothered about numbers though 3 or 4 would be best.

The Manager (below) has been signed on a 1 year deal on £1200 per week. The American Michael Scott, previously a semi-pro footballer is relishing the challenge of taking Venezia back to the Serie A.

Sandrinho - Hope to utilise him as a Trequerista or Deep Lying Playmaker
Masson - signed from amateur French club Vitre, high hopes for him.
Salas - later signing in pre-season, delighted to get him and hope he, Sandrinho and Masson will run the show in Midfield. He played 4 years in La Liga with Sevilla but gradually dropped down the Spanish leagues since. Still a great capture for Venezia.
Cafasso - he will fight Bertolucci for the left back slot but is also very comfortable at left midfield.
Sclopis - Juventus youth, my future number 1 keeper.
Ravensbergen - another amateur player signed on a free transfer and will be used in midfield to break up opposition attacks. However, pulled his hamstring in the first pre-season game and now out for 3 months!!

Some great results here, including the win over Portogruaro who are in the division above. Sandrinho playing very well and striker Maroni also impressing. Centre Half Jefferson, on loan from Udinese, also looks solid.
Next up is the Coppa Italia Liga Pro where I've been drawn in Group E with Pavia and Tritium, both in the division above.

Once again we raced to a 3 goal lead in the first half then Cafasso got sent off for 2 bookings and we fell apart. They scored twice before half-time then another 2 in the second half. Fortunately the fantastic Sandrinho bagged a hattrick from midfield on his league debut including a late equaliser to make it 4-4. 2points dropped and Cafasso issued a warning!

After some exhaustive research we could finally found a GK who didn't have a contract at the moment and wanted to join the club.
His name is Michäel Ménétrier, he is from france. Even though he's a little bit old he's still kind of good. He could be helpful for one season or two.
The only problem is that he will join us until January 'cause the transfer market is already closed.

I changed the tactic just a litle bit, so in this first game that I get to manage the team looked more efficient. For example, in this first image you can see that we had plenty of shots and almost all of them were from inside the box:
Also, my 4 Defenders and 2 Defensive Midfielders worked great in the back. Besides the goal, the other team didn't have one single shot inside the box.
Even though we didn't have the possession of the ball we took advantage of the chances that we have and we ended up winning the game.

Overall we've been doing it great! The two Defensive Midfielders that I added to the tactic give us that solid and strong Defense that we were looking for. Also, the Midfielders and Full Backs know how to open the pitch and we can play very wide.
We're currently 1st on the league table because of 5 games won and 1 drawn.
That's even a new record for Venezia!
Unfortunately we have some bad news as well. Sandrinho got injured in the last game and he'll be out for two months. I was using him as a defensive midfielder and we don't have another player like him.

So we had to play against Castiglione who was 2nd by that time, only 3 points behind me. It was a difficult and a little bit slow match but at the end... WE MANAGED TO WIN!
As you can see we had plenty of chances to score. We deserved 3 or 4 goals at least.
On the other side, we did an excellent job closing the defense and they barely had chances to score.
So now I have to send the file back (2 months already passed in the game) and I'm really proud of the results that we got with Venezia! We're currently 1st on the table with 6 points more than Castiglione.

Emphatic win to go with some silky football. Godeas was immense in this game, the big man grabbing 2 goals and 2 assists.
Struggling a bit on the injury front, although Sandrinho is back fit and Jefferson a game away, Cafasso as been ruled out for 5weeks

Next two games
3-0 up at half-time. Lesson learned, don't take the assistant managers advice at a team-talk. The guy is rubbish! Two cheap goals conceded and lucky not to give away a 3rd.
My first defeat and bitterly disappointed in the way we lost. 3-0 down at half-time, two of them absolute howlers from the keeper Zandrini (he has to go!). One he ran to the left touchline and passed the ball to the opponent giving them a tap in. Another he ran out to head the ball (in his own box!! use your f##in hands!) and somehow headed the ball backwards allowing the striker a tap in. I would like Zandrini investigated for match fixing.....dropped!

New Signings on pre-contracts
Jefferson - Agreed to sign permanently with the club from Udinese at end of the season until 2015 after starring whilst currently on loan to us. Managed to knock a bit off his current wage too and will soon earn £2700 p/w
Mario Titone - Will sign in July from Viareggio. He has some good stats and will compete for a place on the left wing as well as giving us another option up front.
Luca Valeriani - Will sign in July from Rimini . At just 21, Luca has got bags of potential and can play as a holding midfielder or in a more attacking role. He will have a big future with us.

Good thing was that many of these players also took massive wage cuts which will do us some good as we are leaking cash.
The only other players I would recommend giving a deal is Taddei though he drives a hard bargain - and so do I! Perhaps Awebos can get him signed. Anyone else I think is either not good enough, getting too old or getting paid more than they are worth.

General
I have stuck with your tactics and more the most past the team is playing very well. Maroni and Masson fit nicely into the tactic as well as Cafasso and Battaglia though I think we can be getting more from Sandrinho in an attacking sense. I'm playing Sandrinho as a defensive playmaker though I played him as a Trequerista using my tactic and he scores goals so perhaps he could be tried up front if Marconi or Godeas get injured or stop scoring.
