The Scottish Revolution – FM26 Pyramid Overhaul
Tired of the 12-team "split" and playing the same teams four times a year? This mod completely reconstructs the Scottish Football Pyramid for FM26, bringing more variety, bigger leagues, and the high-stakes drama of the English-style playoff system.
NEW LEAGUE STRUCTURE
Scottish Premiership: Expanded to 16 Teams. No more split! A traditional home-and-away season providing a balanced and fair title race.
Scottish Championship: Expanded to 14 Teams. Increased competition for those fighting to reach the top flight.
Scottish League One: Expanded to 14 Teams. A more robust third tier to bridge the gap between regional and national football.
Scottish League two: Expanded to 36 Teams split between North/South (18 teams each)
THE EFL-STYLE PLAYOFF SYSTEM
We’ve removed the confusing "relegation playoffs" where higher-tier teams get a second chance. Now, the drama is purely about promotion:
Direct Relegation: The bottom three teams in the Premiership and Championship are relegated automatically. No safety nets.
Promotion Drama (Premiership & Championship):
1st & 2nd Place: Automatic promotion.
3rd through 6th Place: Enter the EFL-Style Playoffs. Two-legged semi-finals followed by a "Winner Takes All" Final at Hampden Park.
League One & The Regional Jump:
The bottom four teams in League One are relegated automatically.
The Champions of the Highland League and the Champions of the Lowland League are both promoted automatically to League One and 3rd through 6th Place playoff for the final promotion spot
KEY FEATURES
Fixed Latitudes: Precise boundary settings ensure relegated clubs from League One filter correctly into the Highland or Lowland leagues based on their location.
Custom Cup Adjustments: The Scottish Cup and League Cup have been tweaked to accommodate the new league sizes and schedules.
Realistic TV Money: Rebalanced financial distributions to ensure the expanded leagues remain competitive and sustainable.
Updated Schedules: A revamped calendar that reduces fixture congestion while maintaining the tradition of the festive period.
HOW TO INSTALL
Download the .fmf file.
Place it in: Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2026/editor data.
Start a new save and ensure the "Scottish Revolution" mod is selected in the Database dropdown.
Note: It is highly recommended to select "Add players to playable teams" for the lower regional divisions.

Fixed Errors with prize money
Rebranded Highland/Lowland Leagues Too League 2 North/South
Graphics File for new logo will also be included in the zip folder.
Fixed an issue where no cup competitions were playable/included
Added Reserve and Youth teams

I fired up a new save there isn't any under 19s squads to move players into, is this supposed to be like that or has it been missed or potentially bugged?

Yup thats a bug just fixed it now should have a reserve team u21 u19s and u17s for each side now

There doesn't seem to be a transfer windows and no squad registration for the league. Plus NO VAR in any league games or CL games

yeah working on this issue i’ve got a transfer window system working at the moment but for some reason is ending on weird dates im new too this whole thing so if you have any idea how to get it running feel free to give us a message or even help on the file by yourself

done some further research and i have discovered as i first thought that the spfl doesnt have squad registration for the league although i am looking to implement some u22s rules and foregien player rules to try and balance the old firm stronghold on the league to help spice up the league VAR has been implemented into the league and CL in the newest update that will be coming tomorrow
