  • Southeast Asian Club Championship (Shopee Cup)
    • 16 teams from 13 nations (Australia does not compete) enter the competition
    • the top 3 nations have 2 slots, the other nations 1 slot. The slots are allocated to the league winners and cup winners
    • the bottom 4 nations start at the preliminary round, the winners advance to the group stage
    • 2 groups of 6 teams, the top 2 advance to the semi final
    • KO round is home and away
    • uses officially communicated schedule and prize money
    • this competition does not change coefficients
  • Coefficients
    • Slot allocation is based on 5 year coefficients
    • (!) AFC basically uses a list for West and East, but this is not possible in the editor. So I had to use a few tricks to achieve the East/West separation. Coefficients are very complex in the editor and their behaviour is not always clear. Coefficients correspond to reality for AFC Elite and AFC 2. But The challenge league would not use coefficients like the other two, so I had to implement a trick to get them in. Therefore those are not exactly like real life but a good approach. For the year 2020 all coefficients are 0 (Covid) and the game sets all coefficients in 2022 to 0. This means that in the early years the coefficients are based on 3 years instead of 5 because 2 years are zeroes. From my observations, this can cause some movements in the ranking, but they normalize after a couple of years.
    • (!) The slot allocation page for Asia in the game cannot be changed from the old format to the new format. So you should ignore that page and instead focus on the coefficient ranking page: top 6 nations from West and East will enter ACLE, and so on. Slot allocation is based on real AFC (see above).

I did my best to use realistic formats for all the leagues that are included. The rule files contain:

  • real divisions and cups with real formats from 2023
  • teams from the 2023 season
  • all nations have transfer windows, registration periods, tv dates, match rules, prize money - when I was able to find this in my online research

Compatibility

  • FM Database 24.3.0 (only)

The rule files are free, but every tip will greatly improve my motivation to provide updates and other federations, because I spent a great deal of free time researching and editing. So if you really enjoy the rule files, then every small contribution is greatly appreciated. Support Me.

Installation Guide

Copy the .fmf files for the nations you want into the folder "<My Documents>\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2024\editor data\".

The folder can be different if you have changed it in the FM24 preferences. The leagues should then appear the next time you start a new game in FM24 and chose advanced setup.

Make sure you have the checkbox "add players to playable teams" checked. This is recommended, otherwise you may end up with a lot of greyed-out players.

Testing and Research

All rules files have been tested in the editor and in the game as well.

Of course, it is always possible that there are issues and mistakes in the rule files. If you find an issue, you can contact me by E-Mail.

The AFC Champions League is set to expand to 32 teams, with 16 teams from the East and 16 from the West. There is an intention to reallocate the quotas. Do you have such an intention?
