After the World Cup update, several players appear to have reverted to old clubs when starting a new save.
For example, Uba Charles is listed as an Aalesund player in the database, but when I start a save he ends up at Lillestrøm. I have also noticed that some free agents seem to have outdated statuses, with players appearing as free agents based on older data.
This appears to affect multiple players rather than a single transfer. I am using the latest FM26 data update and can provide screenshots if needed.
Has anyone else experienced this, or could there be an issue with the World Cup update processing player contracts/transfers?

World Cup mode doesn't allow fmf files. In other words, you can't use mods.
The game will use the database as is from the official 26.2 update.
I don't think I'll be able to play a realistic World Cup with mods available until someone makes an fmf file that makes the World Cup combinations realistic.
