Hi everyone,
I would like to share the alpha version of Regenesis - Youth Intake Editor, a standalone Windows tool for Football Manager 2026 that lets you shape your club's next youth intake before the juniors are created.
Football Manager pre-generates the upcoming intake during the window between the "youth intake will arrive soon" preview and intake day. Regenesis attaches to the running game, finds those pre-generated in-memory junior records, and lets you edit them. When the intake arrives, your changes carry through into the real newgens.
Why I built it
I have been a Football Manager / Championship Manager fan for almost 25 years, and long youth-focused careers have always been my favourite way to play. What I enjoy most is not just making a team better, but building a story around the academy: golden generations, family dynasties, weird challenges, role-playing saves, "what if?" scenarios, and all the little narratives that make a long save feel alive.
For years I looked for a tool that scratched that exact itch. I tried official editors, unofficial editors, real-time editors and Cheat Engine tables. Many of them gave me a piece of what I wanted, but never the whole thing. Some were too broad, some were too expensive for the one feature I cared about, some changed parts of the game I did not want to touch, and some required awkward timing or live hooks around intake day.
So I decided to build the thing I wanted myself.
Regenesis is deliberately narrow. It is not a general FM editor. It does not edit clubs. It does not edit existing real players. It focuses only on young regenerated players connected to your upcoming intake.
How it is different
Some people will probably ask: "Isn't there already a Cheat Engine table that can create a Golden Generation?"
Yes, and the idea behind that table is great. But Regenesis works differently.
The Golden Generation approach I had seen before relied on code injection / hooks and needed the tool to be running at the right moment during intake day. In my experience, that could be fragile and could lead to crashes.
Regenesis does not inject code into FM. It does not patch the game executable. It edits the pre-generated junior records that already exist in memory during the intake preview window.
- Open FM during the youth intake preview window.
- Open Regenesis.
- Connect to the game.
- Edit the intake or apply a scenario.
- Save in Regenesis.
- Save your game in FM.
- Close Regenesis and continue your save normally.
The tool does not need to stay open while you continue your save.

Two ways to play
Full control
You can see and edit the numbers directly. This is the sandbox mode.
Semi-realistic
If you dislike pure cheating but still want to play with youth-intake scenarios, this mode may be for you. CA, PA and attributes are hidden. Instead, you get a plain-language scout report, and you can apply scenarios without turning the save into a spreadsheet exercise.

Both dark and light themes are available.

Safety and limitations
Regenesis is a real-time memory editor. That means there is always some risk, just like with any tool that reads or writes live game memory. In my own testing I have not seen save-breaking issues, but my tests are still limited to a small number of saves and seasons.
Important notes:
- Back up your save before using it.
- Regenesis uses no code injection.
- Edits are reversible inside the tool until you click Save.
- It works only for your managed club.
- It works only inside the youth intake preview window.
- Outside that window, an empty list is normal.
- It is unofficial and not affiliated with Sports Interactive or SEGA.

Discord for bugs, support, ideas and beta access:
Free tool / optional support
Regenesis is free, and I do not currently plan to lock the public core tool behind a paywall. The project is only just starting, so I do not want to make unrealistic promises about every possible future feature, beta experiment, support model or optional extra. But the current goal is simple: make the core youth-intake editor available, useful, and worth improving with the community.
That said, the project takes time: testing across different saves, adapting to FM updates, improving the connection scan, writing documentation, handling bug reports, and eventually dealing with code signing / false-positive antivirus reports.
If Regenesis improves your long-term save or scratches the same youth-academy storytelling itch for you, you can support the project here:
https://ko-fi.com/regenesis_yie
Support is completely optional. It does not buy priority support, does not decide beta access, and does not change what is included in this public alpha. It simply helps keep development moving.
Antivirus / SmartScreen note
Regenesis reads and writes Football Manager process memory, like other real-time FM editors. Because the alpha executable is currently unsigned, Windows SmartScreen or antivirus software may warn about it.
Please download only from the official link above, verify the SHA256, and only run it if you are comfortable with that. If your antivirus quarantines it, you may need to add an exclusion for the folder.

FAQ
The loading progress bar is stuck at 99%. Is it broken?
Usually no. This can happen, especially on the first run or on large saves. Regenesis is scanning FM's memory and building the data it needs. In some cases it may take a few minutes. I am still working on optimising this part and it should improve in future versions.
The tool loaded, but I do not see any juniors. Why?
Most likely you are not in the right intake window yet, or you joined the club after the early youth intake preview had already happened.
Regenesis works when FM has already generated the preliminary youth intake preview for your managed club, but before the real intake day. If that preview does not exist for your club, there may simply be nothing for Regenesis to find.
Is it safe for my game or save?
Any tool that edits live game memory carries some risk for stability and save integrity. Regenesis is designed to be conservative: no code injection, no executable patching, edits are reversible before Save, and it only targets pre-generated intake records. Still, this is an alpha. Back up your save.
Will it work after a Football Manager update?
Regenesis is designed to find data by structural memory signatures rather than one fixed hardcoded address, so small FM updates may continue to work. However, if Sports Interactive changes the relevant memory layout too much, the tool may need a fix and a new release.
Why are some options greyed out?
Some features need more testing, tuning or preparation before I am comfortable putting them in the public alpha. They are reserved for beta testing for now. You can apply for beta access on Discord.
Where should I report bugs?
Please use the Discord:
If possible, include the report bundle created by the in-app bug/report button.
Where should I suggest ideas or scenarios?
Also on Discord. Creativity is very welcome. Regenesis is built around youth-intake stories, so unusual scenario ideas are not just tolerated - they are the point.
I do not like cheating, but I still want to try the scenarios. Is there a good way to play?
Yes. Use the semi-realistic mode. It hides CA, PA and attributes, gives you a scout-style report instead, and lets you apply scenarios without seeing every number.
Does Regenesis edit real players?
No. Regenesis is focused on youth-intake regens. I do not plan to add real-player editing.
Does the tool need to stay open on intake day?
No. You use Regenesis during the preview window, make your edits, save in the tool, then save in FM. After that, the tool does not need to remain open.
Does it work for other clubs' intakes?
No. It is designed for your managed club's intake.
Does it work outside the intake window?
No. Outside the preview window, the list being empty is expected.
Is it better than other editors?
I do not think that is the right question. It is different. As far as I know, nobody has really tried to make a dedicated youth-regen playground for Football Manager in quite this way. I hope it appeals to people who enjoy the same kind of long-save academy storytelling that I do.
Final note
I hope Regenesis gives you a few new youth-intake stories worth remembering. Have fun with it, back up your saves, and please share your feedback if you try it.
You are very welcome on the Discord if you want to discuss the tool, report bugs, suggest scenarios, apply for beta access, or help with shaping and moderating the community as it grows:

Any hope for Mac users?
dzinus
Unfortunately, since I don't have a Mac, I can't make any promises right now. If the tool takes off, gets some contributors, or I buy a Mac down the line, I'll definitely look into offering it. I just can't give an exact ETA at the moment.

Does it work on linux?

so far windows only, linux i os the backlog list though
