Hi everyone,

I'm working on a custom Brazilian Portuguese translation for FM26 and I'm trying to rename the "Friendly" competition label that appears in the Fixtures & Results screen (as shown in the attached screenshot).

I've already tried:
- Editing all LTF keys that map to "Friendly" as competition name (KEY-227507, KEY-227516, KEY-288615, KEY-313183, KEY-404106, KEY-680727, KEY-694744) — none of them change the label in-game
- Searching in the pre-game editor — "Friendly" doesn't appear as a competition entry
- Enabling unique IDs in preferences — no ID is shown when clicking on "Friendly"
- Checking all platform LNC files (comps_aa.lnc, AA_Comps_2.lnc, etc.) — no Friendly entry found
- Analysing the compiled PT-PT .ltc file — "Amigável" appears in the binary but the index mapping doesn't correspond to any LTF key that works

This leads me to believe "Friendly" may be hardcoded in the game engine rather than pulled from the LTF/LNC system, or it has a competition unique ID in the database that I can't find.

Does anyone know:
1. Is the "Friendly" competition label actually changeable via LNC (COMP_LONG_NAME_CHANGE)?
2. If yes, what is the unique ID for the Friendly competition in FM26?
3. If not, is there any other way to translate it?

Thanks in advance!

Hi you have to change it in the pre-game editor. Load the file and double click the competition name. It will bring up all the characteristics of the competition. On one of the drop down menus change to one of the competition values changing from friendly to whatever you choose. Options can be Cup Winners Cup or Club Champions Cup etc. You should also change the level to either 0 top of the range down to 20 and pick which type of cup should be presented

Renaming the “Friendly” competition label in Football Manager 26 is a smart customization because it lets players tailor the game to feel more immersive and personal. Adjusting terminology can make matches feel more realistic or aligned with your club’s culture, enhancing the overall experience. It’s a positive example of how small tweaks can deepen engagement. Much like the steady focus in Slope game, success depends on balance—fine‑tuning details without losing sight of the bigger picture keeps gameplay both authentic and enjoyable.

This article is incredibly thorough and thoughtful; I rarely see anyone delve so deeply into translating FM26. The way you tried each approach, from LTF files and editors to LTC files, shows you've done serious research, not just guessing randomly. Reading it was even more engaging than some Sprunky tutorials I've seen because of the level of detail. I hope you find a way to change the Friendly label in the game soon.
