Ha ha ha I often watch the highlights of league 1 and 2 on the football league show and I look out for your results but I don't really look at the league tables and based on reading what you two were saying I thought you were fighting relegation

I wonder if it's just a coincidence we're all becoming more and more depressed around Valentine's Day?

I know it's odd how we're in the play-offs, having beaten second in the league comfortably at their place and I'm moaning, but there you go!

I've only just heard of the story that Leyton Orient is being used for a reality show in Italy where the winner gets a pro-contract. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/football-league/leyton-orient-to-become-subject-of-italian-reality-tv-show-that-will-give-the-winner-a-professional-contract-at-the-club-10043597.html

Fuck me things have fallen off the cliff since the end of last season.

Should see Bournemouth fans if you think you're moaning without reason. I mean, seriously, check the Twitter hashtag #afcb - you'd think they hadn't just gone top of the league, got a freescoring team, a squad which is probably the best in their entire history, and their best-ever chance of top-flight football.

Football fans are the same the world over. Always want more. Always impatient. Never quite seeing the bigger picture.

Sure not to long ago they nearly became a non-league side as well.

Actually won a game away from home. It would be nice to get a streak from here on but knowing our team, we will probably draw at home to rock bottom Hartlepool now,

You would be correct, 2008/9 when they were deducted 17 points.

Birmingham's parent company in receivership. Don't know how that applies to FL insolvency rules. Technically, they're solvent. But they're also consulting with creditors and doing a lot of things which administrators also do. I suspect a 10-point deduction will be heading their way, though I could be wrong. I can't claim to know the FL's rules on insolvency particularly well.

From another forum
So far there isn't any evidence that Birmingham City themselves can't pay debts etc, just the Holding Company.

Its possible for a holding company, especially a large one with many subsidiaries, to have financial difficulties, but the individual subsidiaries still being viable in themselves.

Forgemasters is a prime example - the American parent company went into liquidation, but the Forgemasters part of the business was perfectly viable, and went on to be bought off the Liquidators by the management.

So Birmingham might be ok, as long as they can carry on paying bills

Thats not certain, either as the solvency is in regards to the company owning BIHL which is Birminghams parent company, not sure how it works in that set up.

We're on a bit of a roll at min, beat Colchester 4-1, then beat Bristol City who hadn't lost at home since November 3-1, and tonight we just won Notts County 2-1.

1 more game in hand, and then we'll be 6 points behind 2nd. Its on.

What do you think to De Girolamo leaving? has he even shown as much promise since his injury? No idea why he thinks moving to Sunderland is a good move, if he does end up there

He thinks hes bigger than the club, his head has obviously been turned because of all the paper reports over the last few years, his reasons for rejecting a contract (rumour is we offered him just over 2 thousand per week on the new deal including bonuses, which for a 19 year old League One footballer is absurd if true) is because he wants to play, Sunderland, Juventus and Lazio all want him, he hasn't a cat in hells chance of getting games with either of those teams. He's not really played many first team games for us, but when he has he's done ok, but as he's not a regular we probably won't miss him. You can't really miss what you haven't had tbh.

He's very highly regarded in Italy because of the u19/21 set up so most clubs will know about him i'd guess, so i expect him to end up at one of the bigger clubs but probably loaned out to a team in Serie B/C which is most definatly not as good as any of the English leagues above Conference.

He's played his last game for us though, went out on loan to York until the seasons end, and then he's a free agent.

He'll be one of those flops, that never makes it, but it serves himself right for leaving at such a young age if his career goes down the pan, just like Jordan Slew who's just signed for the mighty... Cambridge United

Seems like he'll turn into another 'hyped' Italian youngster who'll end up in the lower leagues of Italy as you say. Shame his attitudes not like Louis Reed, he seems a good lad.

I forgot about Slew, his dads a big lad

I'm thinking purely of the Southampton situation from a couple of years ago. I suspect the FL will give Birmingham short shrift given their ownership confusion and might not give them the benefit of the doubt. Again, might be wrong, but that's what I think.

Louis Reed is really down to earth, know his family, he's not gonna be one to uproot easily, think he'll be here for a few more years yet. Brilliant player too, only 17 aswel.

Currently got a lad out playing for Ilkeston, got a really big future in the game scored 14 in 7 for Hallam, just gone out to Ilkeston and scored 2 on his debut, if he lives up to the promise, we won't even remember Diego.

Any good players coming through your ranks? I know a lad, Brad Beatson who plays for your academy

Not really, yet anyway, Beatson' not doing to bad always looks solid enough, Jack Stobbs is the brightest prospect only 17 but has a smaller frame then Scougall so will need quite a bit of time to develop. Franck Betra was looking good, but he picked up a bad injury and is out for the season. Our academy will take ages to catch up with your productivity, it got neglected for far to long.

Scougall would be a brilliant little player if he 'bulked' up a little, he just gets thrown around game after game, limits him quite a lot, Louis Reed is even smaller though, soon he'll get the same treatment Scougall gets from opposition players.

Although we're in League One i don't think theres much difference between the quality of players both Sheffield clubs have, it just always seems to be a problem getting out of league one for any team, really.

Leeds United somehow just beat Middlesbrough 1-0.

Middlesbrough battered them for the entire game and the Leeds keeper made some fantastic saves.

Probably lucky no Frenchmen were in attendance today. They'd have had an existentialist crisis and written a 600-page work on boredom. A draw was quite definitely the right result, though we did get away with one in the first half when Jones went down just inside the box and the ref gave a free-kick.

And having seen it again, I'm wrong and the ref was right on all counts. Clever play by Kenwyne Jones, making sure he got something when he wasn't getting to the ball, daft from Smith, who showed inexperience to pull him back when he didn't need to, and good refereeing. Actually, the ref had a good game. I'm the first to criticise a ref for a bad game, so it's only fair that Mr Heywood should take the credit for a good performance.

Just witnessed Exeter's ground for the first time, if you can call it a ground, you certainly can't call the "away end" an away end!

BUT WHO FUCKING CARES WE JUST BEAT THEM 3-1 WITH 10 MEN

If we do beat Plymouth away and Luton at home we might actually have chance of automatic promotion so I'll pass for the moment.Having said that, we will probably lose so don't rule me out just yet. Oh, we won 1-0 against Hartlepool. Amazing
