Yeah, it sets up very nicely with FFP but I can't say I'm too happy with this window now. Today's taken the shine off the signings.

Pretty sure we made a profit this window... (If you count Beast's fee as now)

I'm not too fussed about Negredo leaving, it's more the principle of only having 3 strikers (2 of whom love the medical table). Huws however is fucking bullshit, really, really hope we have a buy-back

Chelsea are the only top four team who have markedly improved and they did all their business weeks ago. Unsurprisingly.

not only there were transfers but 2 or 3 managers lost thier jobs on deadline day.

I think hull could potentially have a good day with their signings.

Getting £24m for a 29 year old after signing him for £16m is great business from City tbh.

"Harry Redknapp is furiously searching around his office for his Niko Kranjcar loyalty card to see if he needs one more stamp."

It's weird to say we haven't noticeably strengthened too. If you look at the players we've got rid of and who we've replaced them with only Vidic hasn't been replaced by at the very least a comparable player.

I think he means we won't or can't finish this season in the top 4.

No. The original statement was "Chelsea are the only top 4 team who improved". United may have improved but they were not top 4

I was just responding to what ninja had said, hadn't read the comments above.

We're definitely in a better position, still not perfect, but definitely better.

Just waiting for Vidal to be confirmed now.

In the space of a 30 second interview I'm pretty sure Redknapp called 3 different players 'top, top players' at least 3 times each.

Welbeck gone to Arsenal. £16m, 100k a week, 4 years

So sad to see Welbeck go. I understand his need for first team football, I think he'll do well at Arsenal, but he'll be missed.

Fernando's a good player, haven't seen Mangala but Chelsea signing Diego Costa & Cesc is a complete difference maker. Two of the best in their position.

Seems Utd have to sign off on the Welbeck deal. Pretty obvious they're waiting on Falcao to be done

I'd be alright with Negredo leaving if we replaced him (either with another striker for the 4-2-2-2 to work or with another creative midfielder for a different system) but to get rid of him without even replacing him leaves a bad taste. I'd be shocked if we didn't get a buy-back and/or healthy sell-on clause for Huws, it's the only way it really makes any sense.

City? Or are we forgetting our earlier exploits?

To be fair given the our later exploits I'm not sure it can be said that we have 'noticeably' improved.

Alan Smith's reporting that Falcao's failed his medical.

Not sure why we'd apply for an extension knowing that or let the Welbeck deal go forward though.

The Beast was injured for like 3 months anyway. I'm guessing we're working on staying with 1 up front with Silva, Nasri, Jovetic/Aguero behind the striker (Dzeko/Aguero). Yaya can play up there too as can Fernandinho

He was supposed to be back for end of September or October. I'd be alright with that if we had more creative options but of those three, Silva is the only one who reliably creates. Nasri seems to have gone back in his shell and Jovetic whilst very creative is pretty hit-and-miss with his delivery.

I hope I'm wrong but I don't have a particularly good feeling about this. On the upside it seems like Nastasic is still around, so hopefully that means Boyata can fuck off as far away from the team as possible.
