His only two goals came in the same Capital One Cup tie.

Yet Perez, who I'm sure has actually scored in the Premier League, has to sit on the bloody bench.

Perez is knackered tbf, needs a rest.

We don't have a squad though as we sell players that aren't absolutely necessary so he can't have a long enough one.

Fantastic first half from us. Playing with a high tempo, forward passes, a lot of confidence. Fellaini, Rooney, Carrick, Herrera and Mata all been superb so far.

Hope we don't sit back too much in the second half, we should keep going.

Don't think Utd have been quite as good as what Neville is saying but Tottenham have been shocking. I've not seen two passes put together yet and defensively this could easily see them concede 6 or more and that's without Utd breaking out a sweat.

The main plus points for us are pressing with a much higher intensity and we've been a lot quicker in the final third. Much more like it. But yeah Tottenham have helped massively by being utter crap

Perez on for Obertan. Not the player I would have taken off but a positive sub nonetheless - let's see how long Ameobi stays on then...

2-0.

Gouffran is hilariously bad.

Shadow of a player he was when he came here.

Cabella about to be thrown on, may as well save him for another week now, we're never gonna win this and it's unnecessarily risking injury.

Newcastle are experts at capitulation.

Gonna be like this for a few years if Carver gets the job isn't it

Which I think he probably will.

Interesting to see who will play centre back now

Streete, Lascelles, Good out on loan (unsure if we can recall any?)

Taylor and Dummett injured.

Mbiwa sold for no apparent reason.

Coloccini suspended.

We have Williamson who is Championship quality at best as our only senior centre back, and Ludomir Satka (who?) as our other one.

With Arsenal, Sunderland and Liverpool coming up.

Cant believe we havent brought Falcao on yet. We're 3-0 up and comfortable. If we're gonna be paying him these massive wages til the end of the season we might as well try and get his confidence up when we have the chance

If Carver gets the job full time

That Newcastle starting line-up was absolutely frightening. They really need a good appointment in summer, someone who can come in and shake the club up and give some some hope to the fans who deserve so much better.

If they appoint Carver then desperate times are ahead....

The ref was awful today. Genuinely awful. Refused to give free kicks to Newcastle for anything. Amazed Lennon stayed on the pitch.

Nothing much will really change without a change in recruitment policy. By my reckoning we need to do this.

Out: Williamson, Ameobi, Gouffran, Anita, Tiote, Obertan and R.Taylor.

In: CB x 2, LB x 1, RB for backup, DM x 2, CM x 1, AMC x 1, AMR x 1, AML x 1 and ST x 1.

Never gonna happen.

They also need to go into the transfer market, sign some new players (central defenders are a MUST) and start showing some ambition. Those two things won't happen though and I'm almost one hundred percent sure that Carver will end up getting the post full time due to him being the "cheap" option.

We're fucked basically.

Keep everyone. Try and keep everyone fit.

-Bring in an extra RB. Look to bring in a Coloccini's long term replacement. And maybe another extra CB.
-Replace Tiote and Sissoko if need be (They don't look interested right now)
-Replace Cisse if need be (Reckon he might be crocked)

Spend a bulk of the remaining budget on maybe a striker/winger. Hope that De Jong, Riviere and Cabella can do more next year.

Need to replace Anita too - he's not up to it. He's had plenty chances and just doesn't look good enough for the Premier League.

We need 2 striker/wingers imo - Ameobi/Obertan/Gouffran aren't good enough.

Cheap or not, Carver is completely inept. I have previously said on here that I felt the coaching staff needed changing at the same time as the figurehead when Pardew walked away, but instead they've been promoted and are floundering further.

A mass scale renovation has to take place on the pitch and in the dugout. But the likelihood of that is depressingly remote, and its just becoming more and more worrisome that we could be in a relegation battle next year, with Williamson and Gouffran still holding down regular first team spots.

Also - we tried to bring in Coloccini's long term replacement in Mbiwa - but played him left/right back and generally didn't give him enough time to settle.

Coloccini was god awful for about a year and a half before he got to grips with England.

As soon as Mbiwa didn't start against Villa in the game after we signed every cunt from France I had doubts whether we'd give him enough of an opportunity.

Krul
Darlow
Elliot

Fine, allow Elliot to leave, I guess.

Janmaat
New young RB

Dummett
Haidara

Colo
Taylor
Williamson
Lascelles
-Dummett-

Defence not too bad, depending on Taylor's injuries. Would still like to see a new replacement in their for Colo, and maybe an additional guy if Lascelles isn't ready. And an additional RB brought in.

Abeid
Tiote*
R. Taylor***
Bigi+

Sissoko*
Colback
De Jong**
Anita
Jonas***
-R.Taylor-***

OK in numbers, but solid chance Taylor and Jonas won't be retained and Tiote and SIssoko imo will get their moves in the summer. I've put De Jong in CM as I have no idea where he plays. Could definitely do with another midfielder.

Cabella
Obertan
Ameobi
Gouffran
Aarons
-Perez-

Looks OK, but spending big on a winger would be an area to go for imo. Ayew would probably be good, if he isn't going somewhere else.

Cisse
Riviere
Perez

Urgency for a new striker largely depends on Cisse's fitness.

Benitez is being linked. He'll be leaving Napoli at the end of the season too. Lel.

Wouldn't be the worst choice in the world but he's not exactly top notch. Could live with him in the short-term, mind.

Ancelotti might be available in the summer.

Seems like the only manager of that ilk who might actually be available.

Aye, they'll go for Ancelotti I think. And sack him after winning the title but narrowly missing out the season after or something.

Horrible football club.

Yeah, okay.

Unsure if Lascelles will make the step up though, whereas Taylor is a liability when fit - which is rarely. Williamson is poor. Coloccini isn't getting any younger, 2 good centre backs are a must imo.

Think de Jong is more attacking than a flat out centre mid.

Tbf all depends on who we bring in to manage us. If it's Carver we need a target man and 2 proper wingers.

You're forgetting that Ameobi and Obertan are very poor and won't offer much so need to be replaced.
