Absolutely shocking miss by that American fella at the end of normal time. Should've put them through.

Great goal by Lukaku

Great goal.

Literally 2 seconds before I was about to turn off, too.

I wish England had as much hype about them as USA.

Love USA.

Yedlin had a superb game.

By far the best game of the tournament so far. I've not enjoyed a game so much in ages. I'll even forgive the USA for not winning me my 400/1 bet on them after that.

Surely the USA stop being fucking arseholes about everything and start to like football.

That was fucking awesome.

I'm just delighted that Lukaku decided to score, although he could have scored more than once.

I'd like to think he'd start the quarter final now.

Nah, Origi offered a lot more throughout the entire game

I can say this. I'm proud of the US team for how they played. I'm respectful of Belgium, as they didn't pull all that time-wasting crap either. Yes, I would've loved to see the US score on a couple of their chances...Wondo in particular but also that set piece with Dempsey. But we went out with a fight and the US has embraced this team at least. MLS is already outdrawing all but MLB and NFL right now. And with the US, only the Super Bowl had higher viewership than the US games for sporting events.

Or, change the formation and play both, although that won't happen.

Drop Fellaini and you could, he's a waste of a place in that team.

Lukaku brought raw power and directness, which led to both goals.

No he's not, he's played quite well

All of Belgium's goals have been scored or set up by subs. Lukaku didn't do anything special. Origi did the exact same against Korea (maybe it was Russia)

I got Carl Peeters.

That doesn't seem very Belgian at all.

Wasn't too hard considering the US were absolutely fucked after 90mins, i'd say around 7/8 of the players were carrying some sort of injury too.

You could play Januzaj and have an actual number 10, or you could have Lukaku and have an actual striker, or Dembele and have an actual midfielder. I'm not a fan of him as a number 10 because he doesn't create, can't shoot, can't really pass, and basically just throws himself around. Doesn't add anything for me when he's keeping better players out, and Belgium have hardly set the world alight.

Fellaini as a centre mid is good, as a number 10 unless you're lumping balls to his head constantly is hopeless.
