Several update patches thanks to pr0 and mons and we're off. Roll on pre season! With Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw the first two signings under van Gaal's reign it is clear United still need to strengthen to become the dominant force in English football once again and to do so, several targets have been identified. Although it may be a long shot and unclear as to whether the targeted players would move to a club without European football for the first time in 18/19 years it is no surprise that Manchester United, a club with history and success are still regarded as one of the biggest clubs in the world, if not the biggest. To emphasise on my point, 24 year-old Basque born Spanish international Ander Herrera sacrificed his first (and certainly not the last) chance of playing Champions League football with Athletic Club to join the revolution taking place at Manchester United and to help the club reach the heights they have been famously renowned for. The players I have targeted as potential signings are Mats Hummels, Kevin Strootman, Arturo Vidal, William Carvalho and Angel Di Maria. The budget allocated for my first window is approximately 30 million so it is obvious, signing Carvalho and possibly Strootman is the only possible outcome, however several players must be sold and as we all know Manchester United have a lot of deadwood. Therefore the likes of Cleverley, Young, Nani and Fellaini seem surplus to requirements and will be moved on after not being declared good enough to play for the famous red shirt. With the departures of United legends Rio and Vidic as well as the gaping hole in the midfield which is crying out for a box to box midfielder it is evident to see that a CB and a CM is priority in this transfer window which could shape the future of this famous club. More to come soon...
