It's pissing ran outside of Tynecastle Stadium as I sit in the press room waiting for the Scottish media to assemble. I thought briefly, what in the hell are you doing here, what can an American manager who has never even played in this country offer this club. What will supporters think of you and your idea's. Will they be receptive or will it be a living hell here in Edinburgh?. As they start to file in my assistant manager, Billy Brown sits down next to me and asks, "How nervous are you now pal? No worries just relax." I take a deep breathe as the Press officer tells the media to go ahead with questioning.
Peter Macphee - BBC Radio 5 Live
"Hearts aren't the richest of clubs and this is seen by some as a serious roadblock. Do you think you will be held back by the financial situation of this club?"
Jeremiah Walsh - New Hearts manager
"I am in no way in charge of anything financial at the club at this point. We have an administrator who will be handling all things financial for the foreseeable future. So, to be honest I can't answer that question for you Peter."
Gary Welch - www.sportinglife.com
"You have taken charge when it is widely expected that Scott Robinson will leave the club. Can you keep him at Hearts? And do you want to?"
Jeremiah Walsh - New Hearts manager
"Ideally I would like to keep Scott here at Hearts but I do know that may not be possible. If he wants to stay then I think he can play a big part in the middle of the park for us where we need as much help as we can get. So to answer the question Gary, yes he is wanted here, and we are going to try and keep him here for as long as he wants to continue to put on a Hearts shirt and play for this wonderful club."
Raymond Small - The Scottman
" Do you feel that the expectations placed upon you with a 15 point league deduction are fair, and how do you go about achieving those expectations this season?"
Jeremiah Walsh - New Hearts manager
" Raymond, thanks for the question. I don't have any comment right now on what our goals are for this season. We will sit down as a group within the next week or two and figure out what a reasonable outcome to the season would be. This is a massive club with massive support so we know that we have to try and progress torward the higher reaches of the game. And in time we will figure that out."

Walsh had this to say on the matter ... "It's fairly obvious to everyone that the club is in a big mess financially and it will take some good business and solid football to get the club back on sound footing financially. We may have some of our better players leave the club in order to keep the club moving in the right direction. We will try not to sell any of our players until we are from under the embargo that the administrator has placed upon us but we know that may not be possible. We know that if a solid offer comes in for our players then they are most likely going to be allowed to leave.
The club has just come off the back of a major problem and we are still repairing the damage as we speak all the while trying to do what's best for the club. The loan repayments have already begun so that's a step in the right direction. While the administrator handles what's going on behind the scenes financially it is my job to get this club and our players focused on the upcoming season and our goal will be to kick on and achieve our goals for this coming season."

Not a bad Pre-Season for Hearts with a couple of the injuries and players leaving on loan shrinking our squad side but we somehow got through it and will look to get a little more healthy before we start our season this Sunday away against St. Johnstone.

We knew we would have to defend well if we were to get anything out of this match so I went with a 5-1-2-2 Defensive formation. At the end of the day we were lucky to get the 3 points against a better St. Johnstone team. They had 55% of the possession and 11 shots to my total of 5. It was a David Smith header in the 21st minute that put us ahead for good and from that point on we were under fire. We will take the 3 points and move on to our next match getting healthier by the day and gaining more confidence as a side.
