Jesus. People.

The first couple of episodes are fantastic. Him having the drug dealer locked up in the basement, the whole moral dilemma.

That're my thoughts exactly. I've heard so many people say they watched the first few episodes and couldn't get into it. I was hooked after the first episode, perhaps even the first scene.

I was bored, so I started watching Girls. It's basically bizarro Entourage.

Also, if there was such a thing as a reverse Bechdel test, I'm pretty sure Girls wouldn't pass it.

Technically Entourage is just bizarro Sex and The City.

First season of Girls is great though.

Heh, unless I missed something early on it took a season and a half before Girls passed the hypothetical reverse-Bechdel.

It's pretty good though.

What's the reverse Bechdel? Conversations about the 4 Girls?
Franck

Well, the Bechdel test asks if a work of fiction features a conversation between at least two women about something other than men. The hypothetical reverse Bechdel would ask the same question except the role of the men and women is reversed.

Unless I missed something, it took until half way through the second season before two men talked to each other about something other than women in Girls. Not that I'm complaining, it's just an observation I made.

Yes, I know what the Bechdel test is.

Do two male characters even interact in Girls, aside from the episode where Ray and Adam go to Staten Island? The only other conversations I can remember is Ray and Charlie, but Shoshanna was normally there.

I mean it's called Girls and the main character is incredibly self-obsessed, it couldn't have been that surprising.

The episode before the Staten Island one Ray gets yelled at by the doctor Hannah ends up sleeping with.

Has anyone else watched Orange Is The New Black on Netflix?

I watched the first episode earlier and thought it was pretty good. Loads of boobs.

Watching The Real Husbands of Hollywood, it's so good, if you like that sort of thing.

I only watched the first 3 seasons of Breaking Bad, so I'm currently rewatching the whole thing through. Midway through season 2.

The Skyler hate, is so ridiculous.

Walt is an awful human being, and Skyler gets criticised for it. Society.

The hate is because she cheated on him before being aware what he was actually doing and basically it was because he was being distant

Skyler is very aware he's doing something. She just doesn't know what he is doing. I'm pretty sure they were separated at that point anyway.

And being 'distant' is being incredibly misleading, he's disappearing for hours and not telling her where he has been, and she knows he's lying about the fugue state and the second mobile phone. That level of betrayal of trust is equal to having an affair, if not far greater.

Didn't she cheat after she found out about the whole drug thing?

Skylar is horrid, though.

Just because Walt's worse doesn't mean she's a saint.

Yeah, Skyler's a cunt but she's nothing compared to Walt.

Watched the first season of Veep. It was okay, but it just didn't feel as cutting as the Thick Of It. Also the characters aren't that standout. I think part of that is that the accents and backgrounds of them are all very similar. One of the good things about The Thick Of It is that a lot of people come from different regions of England and you can instantly get a feel of what they're like based upon how they sound.

I've seen the first two episodes of Veep and I agree. It feels far too sanitised. I also don't believe the dialogue, if you know what I mean? Like I don't believe the characters would swear like that at each other.

Although I haven't seen enough to judge the characters. But Buster Bluth is Buster Bluth. Totally typecast, he can't play anyone other than Buster Bluth.

The new season of The League premiered in the US last night. Probably my favourite program about at the moment, so I'm really looking forward to it.

I finished Orange Is The New Black last night. The finale was pretty contrived and felt quite forced but the series as a whole was pretty good.

Anyone else with Netflix tried it out?

I have. I enjoyed it and watched them all in about 3 days. Netflix have played it well with its original programming with that and house of cards

Just watched it and loved it. Love that they gave Mantzoutkas a good amount of time and had a few guest stars returning such as Seth Rogan as Dirty Randy and Rob Huebel. The best has to have been Jorma Taccome as Spaz

I loved House Of Cards and got through that in half a week. Netflix is such good value, and I love the fact that they're airing the new Breaking Bad episodes each week.
