A-Round The World - 4m A2Z

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/rzbIpQDMgDqW0tapsH20E5HOkPQfa3NYeEKbTlQc.jpg

I am very excited to post my first story in any FM forums and I am happy to choose Sortitoutsi for posting my story. This is my first attempt as journeyman and I feel myself strong enough to take up this challenge and finish it without leaving it in the middle.

Inspired by MrJK's Alphabet Challenge and Dan's Journey Around the World, I took up the challenge of travelling around the world and winning all available trophies there by earning myself some reputation.

Before I move onto the actual story, I would like to keep you all informed about initial setup I choose for this career.

  1. I am using Claassen's League Megapack.
  2. I am starting as unemployed with Sunday League Rep and no coaching badges.
  3. I might not travel around the globe in alphabetical order.
  4. Must not join a club after December 31st or before May 18th.

Am I dreaming??? No, I am not...

After I made up my mind to take up manager role in football world, did my research on potential prospects and zeroed on one country "Saudi Arabia" as my first choice.

4th July 2014:
Keeping in mind my lack of exposure to managerial role, I sent my resume across to many first division clubs that have a vacant manager position.

The result was very quicker than I expected.

5th July 2014:
My phone rang and on the screen where I normally see the phone number, I saw "Unknown Number" instead of phone number. I picked the call up and the voice on the other side wished me and introduced himself as Jasim Al-Yagout, chairman of Al-Qadisiyah Football Club.

I was shocked at what I heard as I am not expecting a sugar daddy club like Al-Qadisiyah will even consider me as a prospect. I quickly regained my consciousness and wished him back. He formally reiterated what the call was about and asked me if I can come down to Prince Saud bin Jalawi Stadium in Khobar for an interview.

6th July 2014:
I packed all the much needed stuff and boarded the plane to King Fahd International Airport which is 50 miles from Khobar and after landing took a room in a hotel nearby to the stadium.

7th July 2014:
I am in his cabin with all my documents and after a series of questions about my past experience, my views about bringing success to the club, he asked me to stay in Khobar for another week before they come to a conclusion.

9th July 2014:
I received call from the chairman's office and asked me if I can come to the office for contract negotiations. When I reached there, I am briefed about the club's vision and what is expected of me if I choose to take up the manager job. I negotiated about the tenure and reduced it to 1 year and asked for a salary of 1.2K Pounds per week.

As the chairman was happy with my requests, I signed the contract, shook hands with him and stepped onto the field to see the ground where I will be working day and night for the next 1 year.

Squad Depth, Transfers and Pre-Season

Initial Squad Analysis:
When I stepped into the manager cabin, I saw my assistant Filipe Azevedo's analysis of the team on the table.
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/s3RHb7qDFUIu99PAXfkQUKew1GMlcXHlv7pdiPbz.png

Well the team setup here is very strong in some areas and is very weak on other. I made some quick decisions on what positions to look for in the transfer market.
This club is in some serious need of a good goalie, good right back and left back, need some decent players in winger roles. Looked at the reserve bench and youth team, called up potential candidates to join and train alongside first team squad.

League Prediction Odds:
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/UlXaquzk8xS46cGLJCROQ8ynsp5RpRffCN4QRS0N.png

Pre-season odds predicted my team have 50% chance of winning the league and will probably come in second place with our arch rivals leading the title race prediction with 55.56% chance.

Tactics:
In order to meet the expectations set by the chairman, I decided to play attacking style football and used the best tactic I had in my mind for LLC's: 4-2-3-1.

Transfers In/Out - Start of Season:

Note: The stats and attributes shown below for the players are taken at the end of season. Will make sure that a screenshot is captured as soon as a transfer is made from next season onward.
Stephen Offei
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/BRLYqs8yf4X9pLWLdYFQfFgq1aA0vay4q08XnDIJ.png

My first signing as a manager of Al-Qadisiyah. Keeping in mind the chairman's request to sign high profile players, I came across this guy and signed him for first choice right back role. He can also cover CB which is an added advantage if I miss any of my front line center backs due to injury or suspension.

Abdulaziz Al-Abduassalam
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/SdH7QmuNappl100kHF9wf4i96dAGaJwEpyqnFIXk.png

Signed as cover for Stephen Offei, a young right back with lot of potential. Will be featuring in most of the matches as either a sub or first team in case of injury/suspension to Stephen Offei.

Saleh Al-Saqri
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/gS0byqsuHinCp5M7jxJyOU6xrsJRvA1TJ4JfDwUV.png

Another high profile player for left back role with good international experience. The only problem is his age and he might be very injury prone because of that reason. Will be my first choice for left back role.

Majed Al-Jafari
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Sojd8PMJlBVp23QA31UxaVQy80zBNdALFky0Jyah.png

Signed as cover for Saleh Al-Saqri. Good player with 10+ tackling, heading and physical attributes.

Mohammed Khojah
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/KfMukDyybQ4XavYGqZbrVfxmE5hqsRuY0KKgcbYo.png

Another player with international experience and 10+ ratings in many of the required attributes for a goalkeeper. Signed as first choice Goalie as my other goal keepers are worth nothing.

Mohammed Al-Fifi
http://i.imgur.com/aszmgbw.png

Signed as cover for my main AMC Abdulwahab Ali as he will be constantly featuring in international matches. Can play as AMR as well. Useful player in case if necessary.

Mukhtar Al-Shanqiti
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/eeCjDwpAVfZQPjz6yvC23wU1FIM6JiHo9GtK5Hg1.png

Signed as first choice AML. Good player with 10+ in physical, dribbling, crossing and technique.

Preseason:
The first friendly was scheduled for 12th July i.e 3 days after me taking up the role and so I decided not to have an inter-squad friendly.
As per my tactics, I need the best wingers in attacking positions and we don't have any good players for left winger role at the start of season, so asked my best striker Lys Mouithys to take up left winger role until we find a good player who can play there.
We had one month of pre-season to gear up and march towards our league goal of achieving promotion and pre-season preparations were as expected:

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/M4o5xoa0jUq8lA7YJlThkrHlF7QQVQhpDGQr2plu.png

The first match aganist Al-Salam which is a lower division team (2 levels below my team), was arranged just to shake off the laziness and flex their muscles to avoid pre-season injuries. My boys delivered exactly what is expected out of them when up against a lower level team.

Second match was against Qatar SC from Qatar, which play in top league. This team is far better than mine and is a real test for my boys. I also told them that they should bind to the tactics and if they play to their full potential, they can easily beat Qatar SC. This paid off and our team was leading in the match with 3-2 until 80th minute. This is where, I sent my substitute DC and GK and the team got disturbed and gave away the match 4-3. But this gave the boys some hope that they can score and compete with big teams.

Third match is against Al-Rayyan from Qatar and of similar level to my team. We faced heavy resistance in this match from the opposition in terms of possession until my main AMC Abdulwahab Ali who came in as sub at halftime provided the breakthrough in 71st minute, to seal the match 1-0 in our favour.

Fourth match is against Hajer, who play in Saudi Premier League one league above ours. As expected, we faced some resistance until first half with scores at 0-0. It became very interesting after first half with my strikers and wingers scoring 3 goals in space of 18 minutes and restricted the opposition to 2 goals thus emerging as winning team by 3-2.

All in all it was a satisfactory pre-season with 3 wins and 1 loss(closely fought though) and the team roaring to start the season in good shape.

Season 2015 (Al-Qadisiyah FC) - August 2014 Round Up

After a very good pre-season, the league started with a home match for my club on August 15th 2014 against Abha. Woo-Hoo!!! What a way to start my career in front of home fans who are eager to see what weapons this new and relatively unknown manager possess in his arsenal, how I use those to my best to make them to achieve what they all wish for and what is at offering from new signings at the club.

As always, new signings in the team are willing to make an impact and secure their places in final 11 by showing the manager what they are capable of when it comes to performing on the field.

Fixtures List:
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/nW2PMZmaZJrMIyid6UdVdv0LvFC0B1dCs3AFzCd6.png

We started the season by sharing points with Abha, which is a bit disappointing as we are clear favorites to win this match. Might be because the new signings took time to gel in with the rest of the squad. Apart from that, my first season as manager was very good with 2 wins and 1 draw.

Match Overview:
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/AQBqcRIks0rAy7kLqh4s4S4fHCqjYXPkK5xwvNXK.png

We went into this match hoping we can outclass Abha without much effort. But were held back by some amazing goal keeping by Abha's GK Salim Aseeri and their CB Saeed Murjan. Both teams worked hard till half time to find the back of the net but failed only to see the scores at 0-0. Abha opened the scoring in 68th minute when Mohammed Al-Shihri tucked home from penalty slot to make the score 0-1. We managed to level the scores when Nayef Al-Balawi scored his first goal for the club in 77th minute. After that my team made constant attack on the opposition goal post but all our efforts are in vain.

Match ended in 1-1 draw with my captain Talal Al-Shemaly (Match rating: 7.9) adjudged as MoM. We had 57% of the possession, 20 shots of which 8 were on target but managed to get only one goal.

Stephan Offie, Saleh Al-Saqri and Mohammed Khojah made their debuts for the club.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/fosqI5KOt6xfu6aMsvrLp3m0LgK8WCTW75DatLLp.png

The odds are in our favor for this match and my boys lived up to the pre match billing by scoring 5 goals and leaking away nothing. Other highlight being, 4 out of my 5 attacking players are part of the scoreboard this match. Nayef Al-Balawi scored in 27th minute to make it 0-1 and open the gates for stream of goals that followed. Abdulwahab Ali scored in 32nd minute to make it 0-2. At the same score, we went into the half time break and when back performed with increased energy. Next goals are scored by Abdulwahab Ali (2nd goal) in 50th minute to make it 0-3, Lys Mouithys in 52nd minute to make it 0-4, an own goal by Majed Al-Ahmadi in 64th min to make it 0-5 and finally rounded by Mutab Salem in 75th minute to make 0-6.

Abdulwahab Ali (Match rating: 9.5) was adjudged as MoM. We had 63% of the possession, 27 shots of which 11 were on target. We managed to score from 5 of the 6 clear cut chances we had and this shows our upper hand in this match.

Mohammed Al-Fifi made his debut when he came in as substitute during fag end of the match.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/SzICT2KpieLTbvCNiFYBRezMk4H4E2VlqNRUP06C.png

Team carried good form from their last match into this game as well and comfortably won this game 3-0. Highlights of the match being another clean sheet by our goalie Mohammed Khojah, Majed Aseri converting a set piece free kick into goal and Mohammed Al-Fifi, Majed Aseri scoring after coming as substitutes.

Lys Mouithys (Match rating: 8.4) was adjudged as MoM. We had 59% of the possession, 32 shots of which 10 were on target.

With this we finished our matches for the match of August and were in 2nd place with 7 points from 3 matches.

Season 2015 (Al-Qadisiyah FC) - September 2014 Round Up

First month of my career went pretty smooth apart from the draw against Abha. My team marched into September to play 4 matches. I hope this is an action packed month as we lock horns with league leaders Al-Ta'ee at home and match strengths against arch rivals Al-Ettifaq in an away mantch.

Fixtures List:
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/EV2rX917nztK7XMN1AjpcZEzcTUhmP7jimXJB8Pn.png

We raised no eyebrows again and comfortably won 3 and drew 1 match this month racking up 10 points.

Match Overview:
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Z1WEgjn1SLkw14Z7LuO4KaxRQVJSM5oCJIC7woTH.png

This match clearly showed others why we are tipped as favorites for winning the league and ripped Al-Safa to bear bones with a 5-0 away win. Al-Safa had a player sent off in the first half which also helped us. Highlights of the match are scoring 4 goals in 13 minutes during 2nd half, quick double by forward Mutab Salem and another set piece free kick conversion by Majed Aseri.

Mohammed Amin (Match rating: 9.2) was adjudged as MoM. We had 62% of the possession, 27 shots of which 9 were on target.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/dZwVJ8Rfzcj3EL9Y1t1zdwyaMZHRkGXZm2MNlfuX.png

This is the first match where the odds are against us and if we prove them wrong, we will move to the top of table. But the result was not as expected. We took lead in the match with 27th minute goal from Nayef Al-Balawi and successfully defended the lead until first half. A 60th minute injury to my key player turned things upside down and Al-Ta'ee started attacking our goalpost at regular intervals finally succeeding in 70th min when their star striker Charles Edo Nga sent one past my keeper into the goal post to level the scores and share the points at the end of the match.

Charles Edo Nga (Match rating: 8.3) was adjudged as MoM. We had 49% of the possession, 14 shots of which 6 were on target and Al-Ta'ee had 17 shots with 8 on target. This shows how closely fought game was this.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/fpWUbCOpubbA8W6GTuij3uWMsbf0p4Nmh85CQcyT.png

We headed into another important match with Al-Ettifaq, leaving behind the memories from last match. This is a must win tie for us to keep the fans happy and a test for me as manager to keep lead the team against our bitter rivals. Made good start to the match with an 18 min goal from Mutab Salem but opposition leveled the score with 28th min goal from Abdul Rahman Al-Ghamdi. Teams went into half time break with scores at 1-1. Right after the break my AMC got injured and I took this opportunity to send my main striker Lys Mouithys as sub. It paid off as he scored the winner for my team in 72nd min. My defense then rise to the occasion by not allowing the opposition score another goal and finishing the match with 2-1 to see the fans return home with smile on their faces.

Lys Mouithys (Match rating: 8.2) was adjudged as MoM. We had 56% of the possession, 9 shots of which 5 were on target. Though we won the match, it was a dumb one in my opinion as both teams played a defensive game.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/HkXx5VIk0sC9c60L6g0DXBDrCQVCKW4RYIF618ui.png

In final match of the month, we played against Al-Majzal who are in relegation zone. This team bagged the record of leaking most goals so far in the league and my aim is to take advantage of this. Stephan Offie scored his first goal for the club at 5th minute and got us off to a flyer. That was the only goal we managed before half time with other goal scoring opportunities being off target. Mutab Salem scored other goal of the match in 51st min just before being subbed. The match ended with a 2-0 win to my club.

Majed Aseri (Match rating: 8.6) was adjudged as MoM. We had 67% of the possession, 20 shots of which 6 were on target. We managed to score only two goals with most of our shots being off target.

With this we reached end of September and were in 2nd place with 17 points from 7 matches.

Season 2015 (Al-Qadisiyah FC) - October 2014 Round Up

Two months passed by and we are at 2nd place with 17 points separated by 2 points from table toppers Al-Ta’ee. October is very important month for us as we will be playing 4 of the 5 matches against teams that are in top half of the table where 2nd to 9th place teams are separated by only 7 points . Any small mistake will see us lose promotion slot. Also 2 of my top players are going on international duty and it will be a stern test for the lads on bench.

Fixtures List:
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/JXVCw1Giazkb8fWsw1X7JmVfrKqwOwQHYOGAq4jN.png

First match of the month is against Al-Hazm, currently at 3rd place; Second match is against Al-Watani, currently at 6th place; Third match is against Al-Jeel, currently at 8th place; Fourth match against Al-Dariyah; currently at 16th place; and finally rounding off the month with match against Al-Wahda, currently at 4th place. We suffered our first defeat of the season and with 3 wins and 1 draw, managed to get only 10 points from 15.

Match Overview:
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/9TFY8NFPhCq39ZeSr5R3QUX5cYIvthJiiZkksOdo.png

We headed into this match keeping in mind the consequences of losing this match. Abdulwahab Ali missed this match because of international duty. The pressure was clearly noticeable and affected our game plan so much that our best attacking tactic so far failed to produce any goals and getting seriously outclassed in the midfield. The only taking from this match though is some brilliant display by my defense players restricting the opposition from scoring. The match ended in 0-0 draw.

Shabib Al-Dosari (Match rating: 8.3) from Al-Hazm was adjudged as MoM. We had 47% of the possession, managed to get only 7 shots of which mere 3 were on target.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/aJDmnXkPj2AbGQ8Jv9enlca9uW4CMVkUwxhBOpLm.png

Though we drew our last match, we managed to keep our promotion slot and headed into this match with a must win attitude. Playing in front of our home crowd, we finished the job cleanly, a 3-1 win with goals from Saleh Al-Quainem who came into the team at absence of Abdulwahab Ali banged 2 goals and Esam Saleh scoring the third.

Saleh Al-Quainem (Match rating: 8.8) was adjudged as MoM for his 2 goals. We had 51% of the possession, 11 shots of which 6 were on target and Al-Watani had 21 shots (Shows how attacking they played) with only 4 on target.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/I05VJ40WvrlJEqtKF4Gq1qatJH7xAAHfJ1zNaR4e.png

Another win to keep the 2nd place with 2-1 victory over AL-Jeel. Highlights of the match being another goal with in first 15 mins by Nayef Al-Balawi and Ahmed Al-Kudair scoring his first goal for the club in 55th min.

Abdulaziz Al-Abduassalam (Match rating: 7.2) was adjudged as MoM. We had 51% of the possession, 13 shots of which 6 were on target.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/kydSsXxNquPVphMRCsPLFCKlEaoIMJ7MAr9OgDX5.png

In what is considered as easiest match of the month, team performed to their standards to record 4-0 victory over Al-Dariyah. Highlights of the match being AML Mukhtar Al-Shanqiti scoring two goals (the quickest goal for the club this season) before getting subbed due to injury, another clean sheet for my team and team making maximum goals before half time. Abdulwahab Ali and Mutab Salem scored goal apiece.

Mukhtar Al-Shanqiti (Match rating: 9.2) was adjudged as MoM. We had 57% of the possession, 23 shots of which 12 were on target. We managed to score only two goals with most of our shots being off target.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/BphDLRKgb3eE9e7w95cA8mrHJet1wO7NgexDWtrb.png

The final match of the month was away game against Al-Wahda and my team suffered its first defeat of the season in this match losing by 2-1. Both goals scored by Al-Wahda came through penalties scored by Ahmed Sharbini. Ahmed Al-Kudair scored the only goal for my team. Al-Wahda were reduced to 10 men with 7 minutes and stoppage time left. We failed to capitalize on that and ended up as losing side. This loss saw us slip to 3rd place behind Al-Wahda who had same points as ours after the match ended.

Ahmed Sharbini (Match rating: 8.3) was adjudged as MoM. We had 46% of the possession, 15 shots of which 7 were on target.

With this we reached end of October and dropped to 3rd place with 27 points from 12 matches.
