I only meant before kick off, when YNWA came on you could hear our fans singing over it. For most of the match our fans were quiet, and from how shit we played you can understand why.

Probably a poor choice of words seeing as they sung nothing apart from Hillsborough chants after you scored. Their behaviour was awful last night.

The 'Murderers' chant certainly is, chants like that and similar in the wake of they Heysel disaster were sung up and down the country after Heysel not just because of what happened, but because of Liverpool's staunch refusal to accept any blame whatsoever. To this day you'll still here some people trying to tell you that Heysel was caused by Chelsea fans that for some reason dressed up as Liverpool fans and caused it.

The other chant I heard was 'Always the Victim' which was created after the Suarez/Evra row and whilst referring to that incident in particular also references the 'self-pity City' narrative that Liverpool never accept blame for anything.

The problem is, as soon as you start to sing 'The Sun was right' its obvious that you're referencing that infamous Sun headline about Hillsborough, so to chant 'The Sun was right, you're murderers' followed by a chorus of 'Murderers' and then 'Always the Victim' means that contextually you can only really interpret them as references to Hillsborough even if two of those aren't songs that specifically reference it.

Still, I've found the sanctimonious reaction from some Liverpool fans a bit ridiculous today. Both sides are as guilty as each other, and until we start condemning our own for getting involved in it its never going to stop. Acting like one side is innocent whenever the other does it loud enough to get attention is stupid.
