I have spent many hours these days reading some exciting stories about other people playing FM, which motivated me both to create a game of mine right now and to try to write about it here for you. So, thank you all and let us go with it.
¡Qué comience el vals, el vals de Nochebuena!
Here you may listen to it.
Here we go. As practically every year, I start my career unemployed and without any qualifications in the South American lands. The leagues selected as playable from the beginning are Brazil, Chile, England, Paraguay, Perú and Uruguay – however, I am pretty sure they are going to be altered more, much more than once. I am going to try to begin in Uruguay and to see how long I will last (Hope to spend at least some years in the Oriental land at the beginning).
I don’t set any specific goals to myself, except having pleasure from the game. I will instead make before every season in a club a brief summary of what I would like to acheive. Perhaps, I will get a post in Luton Town or Montevideo Wanderers and try to lead them to something big – that would be pleasant for me. However, despite having been playing FM for about 6 years (this is my 7th one) I have never won anything serious – except one Spanish Segunda and two New Zealand leagues – so I would also like to bring an end to this.
Here we go, then, in the middle of Uruguayan summer (it is said that the weather will be nice this Friday).

AD Vasco da Gama – February 2016
And the club which desired (or at least, didn’t mind) having an unexperienced 25-year old Uruguayan as their manager was Vasco. Surely not the one from Río de Janeiro – it would be impossible. I didn’t even manage to get a job anywhere near the country. I am heading to the heart of Amazonia, to Acre. Acre is the westernmost state of Brazil, it borders Bolivia and Perú. Its capital is Río Branco (lit. White River), and it is precisely where I am going to work now.
Vasco (I am going to call it just like this from now on) is a professional club from Río Branco, capital of Acre. Its main team plays in the Campeonato Acriano actually, a tournament they have won three times in their history, being the most recent in 2001. The club’s home stadium is Arena de Floresta, popularly known as Florestão. Here goes a club overview screen:
Now let us look more deeply at the Campeonato Acriano that Vasco is competing in. It is quite small, disputed by only 8 teams, among which properly Vasco is. Teams play each other twice, making it 14 games in total from January to March. Top 4 teams are classified to the Championship playoff, where the champion is defined. The bottom team is relegated to the second state division. There is a possibility of promotion: the best team not in federal competitions yet gets a possibility to play the Brasileirão D in the second part of the season. In Acre no team participates in federal competitions so only the champion gets the possibility. Here you can see the league overview and the schedule, which is quite empty at the moment.
The board requirement is not to be humiliated in the league, so this start guarantees us at least something. Maybe we will reach the playoff, that would be very nice. However, the championship possibility is quite very little – just look at Río Branco’s performance against us and other league sides, they only have 1 goal against so far.
What about our players: I have no staff other than me and the Mr. President in the club, so I will have to search for an assistant manager. Yet I know that we must have some players more qualified than expected, otherwise we wouldn’t be second at the moment. Especially they are Juan Castro and Mosca who seem the main constructors of our game. It is the players’ names that are quite curious: we have both Pelezinho and Garrinchinha (little Pelé and little Garrincha respectively), Mosca (lit. a fly), Panda, Dude, Hulk and Azul. Here is the squad summary:
Let us see then where this Waltz will bring us.

Thank you!
Thank you, mate, it was by the way the career of yours among the ones that inspired me to do this one. And well, as far as we are not even in the Brasileirão D we are very unlikely to have a lot of games.
AD Vasco da Gama – April 2016
Well, I have to say that these two months have been quite good, much more than expected by the fans. We had several good games, such as the ones against Andirá or Galvez, but also some not so good ones, as the ones against Atlético Acreano and Alto Acre. The Río Branco game was exceptional – they lost only two points this season (a 0:0 against Alto Acre) and got only 5 goals against in 14 games. As for now, they are by far the leader.
Here is the league table:
As you can see, we finished 2nd. Definitely not a bad result, as our season expectative was not to be humiliated. Our second place is quite stable as for now, 10 points from Río Branco are extremely difficult as for now. So, we will play the playoff, which already is in the picture with the schedule. Río Branco will face Atlético Acreano, while we will play against Andirá – a rival we overcame twice this season, one with me and one without me.
Actually, I don’t know who will play the Brasileirão D, whether it will be the 1st in the regular phase or the playoff winner. However, we will try to do our best in the playoffs and to make an experiment on this.
And now about the players. The line-up has been unstable through these two months, many players changed places with others and some of them were injured for some time. The ones who impressed me most were Feijão, a very good AM for the club; Cebolinha, our best goalscorer; Buru; Cláudio; Azul; and Panda. However, I believe that nearly everybody did a good job and everybody would deserve to be here.
So now we are looking forward to playing against Andirá and the consequent final, if we pass it. The semifinal will be played in two legs, the final as well. Most likely the next update will be after the playoff.
Let us waltz on, thus!

I have already tried to pass that date on holiday, without graphics, with cleared caché and with all three together. However, nothing helped me. Could you tell me please what it can be?
Thank you in advance.
Unfortunately, there is a possibility that the cause of this is the update – I suppose, Brazilian, as the others I have are made by claassen and are known as stable. If it is the case, then unfortunately the waltz is over.
Upd.: I managed to read the crash report – and yes, it says that the problem is with the Brazilian update. It is a pity, for the career could be interesting both for you and me, but it won’t. Enough waltzing for this Christmas. Now I am going to relax a bit, and on 26th I will probably try to make it better.
Merry Christmas to everybody and thank tou for following me!
