Would be better if you could see what they were in for. They could make it a guessing game. You guess what it is by their photo and description.

Watched a documentary about this once... it followed three men who'd all arranged to meet their incarcerated penpals once they got out of prison - they were all stood up and never heard a thing. As that was a surprise...

There was a thing the other day about a 17 year old who started writing to a guy who was in prison for murder and they decided to get married when he got out.

Anyway, to cut a long story short he murdered her too within a year of release.

That's half the fun tbh. Pick a girl and you don't know whether they are a serial killer or just got into a fight

Unless your pen pal is on death row it's just not documentary material.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that as long as you pick someone who is A: Female, B: White, C: Normal looking (as in no tattoos, at least average appearance etc.) you'll probably avoid most genuinely dangerous criminals.

Big difference between someone who's in prison for perjuring herself while trying to protect a criminal boyfriend/family member and someone who was in a violent streetgang.

I guess the best indicator of what they've done is their release date, someone who isn't going to be released until 2040 probably did something quite serious, while someone being released next year probably didn't.

Edit: Just noticed the website also provides a link to a different site with information about retrieving prison records etc. You've already got the names and inmate numbers, so it shouldn't be that difficult.

Hilarious when they finish their little introduction with "I'll be waiting"...

Are you switching Premier League teams?

Are you implying that United fans are unruly, unclean criminal scum?
