So on FM16 I created this tactic, it was a working progress which I never got round to finishing. I decided to dust it off and give it a go on FM18 with a fresh start in charge of Wigan.
My first few league games of the season were woeful, until I plugged this tactic in, instant and dramatic improvement. It is very much plug and play, leave the pre match tactics chat to the assistant, just a decent team talk, and a bit of 'demand more' during the match if it’s not going my way. Attacking play is beautiful. Lots of short first touch passing, working that ball into the box with lethal consequence for the opposition. Players have occasional pop shots from distance, which I like as I love a good variety of goals.
I do advise coupling the tactic with some decent set piece instructions to maximise the chances on goal.
This tactic is in the very early stages of testing with a lower league side. I will Post pictures very soon
So I would be very grateful if people could give it a go and provide good constructive feedback (good or bad).
**UPDATE**
I have changed the mentality to attacking rather than counter, this has resulted in much more shots/shots on target while having little to no negative impact defencively. You should see less draws and more wins.
I have now started to add some images of match analysis for you all to see, more to come and hopefully a trend will begin to show itself. Video's to come soon.
I'm currently playing around with the striker role, i'm happy my younger strikers fit well into the current role, however I have a couple of oldies that don't have the legs for it. Maybe I can find an alternate tweak to bring them on board too. Watch this space.
