I tried something similar to this on FM11 with Croatia with great success, and hope to replicate it here with Bosnia. I aim to make the Bosnian league one of the best in Europe with multiple teams competing for the Champions League. Currently, the Bosnian Premier League is just behind Hungary's top flight and just ahead of the second division in Russia.
The team I have chosen to start with is FK Sarajevo, who have the 3rd highest reputation in Bosnia and finished 4th place last year, with their last title coming in 2007.

Sarajevo is a very strong team that should be able to compete for the league title immediately.
These are three of the key players I expect to have a major impact for me this season:
Said Husejinovic
The former Werder Bremen winger returns to Bosnia and will hopefully be able to rebound from a disappointing stint in Germany where he made just 14 league appearances in 4 years without scoring a single goal.
Emir Hadzic
The big man will start as my target striker up front, where his strength in the air and in setting up others compensate for his lack of pace. With two wingers running off of him, I think he can be successful
Sedin Torlak
My captain, who I will be counting on this year to lead the backline. Although he is painfully slow, he has all the required stats to be a great defender.
Our first games of the season will be in the Europa League First Qualifying Round vs Cefn Druids of Wales, a matchup we should be able to handle fairly easily.

On the transfers side, I made a lot of moves in; all in free transfers.
The main signings are Bovio and, of course, Zanetti. Although both in their 30s, I think they can give me a couple good seasons if they stay healthy.

League Results
The highlight of the league season to this point was the 6-2 thrashing of Gradina on the road. We have yet to lose a game, and we have enough quality and depth that we may not for the rest of the domestic season.
Cup Results
We are in good shape to move onto the quarter finals of the domestic cup, with a 3-1 lead with the home leg coming up.

That's exactly right. Playing him as an anchor man and he's at right around a 7 in average rating.

League Results
We ended the calender year with a thriller against Zeljeznicar, going down 2-0 before taking a 3-2 lead and blowing it at the last minute.
Cup Results
Cup wasn't a priority for me, but Celik is a team we should be beating without much difficulty and the loss is a hard one to take.
Heading into the two month winter break we are just over halfway through the season. Second place isn't a bad position to be in and I have no doubt we can win the league, but I'm disappointed in our play to this point.
With Zanetti aging faster than I had hoped, I needed to make a January transfer, bring in Marcinho on a free. He should be a big improvement and fit nicely into our system and ever expanding pool of Brazilians.

It's sure to be a nailbiter on the final game of the season. I'm confident that we can get our part done, but I hate relying on other results to go my way.

Moments earlier, we found out the final score in the Celik game, one that could make ours meaningless if they picked up a point.
Champions! Celik blew their chance to win the league and we took ours!
Full season review to follow.

Players
Our best player this season, a class above this league.
A pleasant surprise on the other wing, I found myself unable to take him out of the squad.
The captain was solid at the back this year, just as I expected.
As I said, I needed a pacey CB to cover for Torlak, and Emenike was just that,

On the transfers front, I couldn't do much with just $4,000 to spend, so I brought in three players on free transfers, a solid Bosnian international CB, a Brazilian DM in case Bovio doesn't improve this year, and an Argentine winger to give me depth on both flanks.

EDIT:
Got Sparta Prague in the next round. I'd consider them of similar quality to Partizan, so anything is possible.

Taking a two goal advantage home brought some excitement, and over 26,000 tickets were sold, more than doubling the previous record attendance. (13,000 of them were Czech)
Those who came out were rewarded with a decisive win to send a Bosnian team to the Champions League group stage for the first time in history. The $11,000,000 that came with qualification brought us out of the red, and $4,000,000 of it was immediately invested in improving the youth facilities.
The group stage is as far as I could have hoped to get, and the draw doesn't suggest we'll get much further as we're up against the champions of France and Germany and a Portuguese powerhouse.

Doubt it will happen this year, but it definitely provides a foundation for future years with the facilities and profile of the club improving.

League
It hasn't been a bad league campaign this far, but Borac has been exceptional and has yet to lose a game. With only one Champions League spot, winning the league is so important. The money from making the group stages can completely change a club, and if we can get it on a consistent basis we can actually start to compete. We are now at the winter break with just under half our games remaining, so it's not panic time yet, but winning the league has to be a priority.
Cup
We made it through to the semis of the domestic cup without much struggle. To get to the finals we have a two legged match against high flyers Borac, which will be tough, although on paper our side is superior.
Champions League
Can't say I expected the group stage to go any differently. The teams that make it to the group stage are just a different class, and for us to reach that level we must continue qualifying. The 7-0 loss against PSG hurt, but picking up a point against Dortmund was a pleasant bonus. If Reis had not missed a penalty, we might have taken that one. The boosted attendances for Champions League home matches (around 28,000 in 34,000 stadium) meant that we were able to turn a profit every month, which will be key in developing the club.
Other
I have been looking for young players from Africa and South/Central America to invest in for the future, but all of the best options so far have no interest in coming to play in Bosnia. I have secured the signings of three youngsters on free however, most excitingly Washington Alzamendi, a very technically gifted striker from Uruguay and a full back from South Africa who won't arrive for several years; both with 4.5* PA. We also have a bright light coming through the youth squad, a 14 year old striker with 4.5*PA who has already received his first start with the first team, Elmir Hamzic. Unfortunately, it is hard for a club on the rise like mine to buy young players because by the time they have developed, we will hopefully be on another level and we don't know if they will keep up with the growth. For that reason, I am only willing to spend on the best of the best which limits my options.
On the international front, there is big news from the Bosnia side, which regularly features Husejinovic and Torlak.
They beat Slovenia in the playoff to qualify and were drawn into a decent group with Japan, Chile, and Cote D'Ivoire.

Champions - FK Sarajevo
After the winter break Borac faltered, getting just 2 points from 10 games in all competitions and giving us a chance to take the lead, one we would evetually take after 5 weeks. We almost blew it at the end by dropping 3 in a row, but a 5-1 win in the last game of the season gave us a goal differential advantage over Zeljeznicar and our 2nd consecutive league title.
Kup BiH
Champions - FK Sarajevo
Straightforward cup run leads to us doing the domestic double for the first time in club history
Champions League
Champions - Juventus FC
Our first venture into the Champions League went exceptionally and will hopefully be a building block for repeated success next year.
Players
Our best defender again this year, his pace allowed him to recover on the rare mistake he made.
The most important player in the squad this year. It really showed when he was not playing and spreading the ball and being solid defensively.
Really cemented himself as the top striker this year, his emergence along with some of the youth players may lead to the departure of Hadzic this summer.
While Marinho made the team tick, Sesar put the team over the top. His killer balls created many scoring opportunities and he rarely turned the ball over.
The top prospect from our academy, already a decent player who I intend to play more next year. Scored his first goal in the last game of the season at just 14 years 313 days of age.
Transfers

I also may change up my formation to something with two strikers to accommodate both Reis and the ever improving Emir Hamzic.
EDIT:
Fuck, Sesar had his $1,000,000 release clause met, and won't negotiate a new offer. I might be two Bosnians down, which will definitely mean I need to bring some in this summer.
EDIT EDIT:
Sesar said no to Dinamo Bucharest. We're moving on up!

With three of my best players leaving for a combined $7m, I wasn't sure how we would start the season. Luckily we were drawn against an Albanian club followed by the easiest possible draw, Irish club Shamrock Rovers. Unfortunately the law of averages meant we were going to get a hard team next and we were pitted against Celtic. A very tough matchup means we are in danger of not making the group stage and the money that comes with it.
Just one of the players I brought in to the first team was Bosnian, not because there is a lack of talent that can help my team, but because it is much cheaper to buy from abroad. In 6-7 years I should have a steady stream of players coming to the club at age 18 and getting homegrown status and perhaps donning the blue and yellow internationally. The first such example to arrive at the club is one that can make an instant impact, Washington Alzamendi who had started off his career with 4 goals in 5 games including a hattrick against Shamrock.
With both my starting wingers gone and a new option at striker I have switched from a 4-5-1 to a narrow 4-1-2-1-2 that I have had success with in the past. Hopefully Reis and Alzamendi can keep up the early chemistry that has produced six goals between them in the last two games. (Shamrock and our first league match against Siroki) 15 year old Elmir Hamzic is already my third choice striker, in part because he has started to demand first team playing time. Inter Milan has already expressed interest in him, but I locked him up through the 2017 season.
Pictured is my preferred first team squad. Maxsuel is a nickname given by me, as the player's real name is Marcinho, but we of course already have one of those.
