It's kind of that time for me where I'm 'between FMs' and starting to think about projects for the next version.
What are your thoughts? Some for me:
1860 Munich - Take them back to the Bundesliga (taking a little from this from @Dan @Shedender and @DNZY )
Feyenoord/Holland - Revive Dutch football with a nationalistic save at Feyenoord
Newcastle - Because I always do
Interested to hear any obscure ideas you guys might have
Dan
- Yeovil Town - Potentially, did one last year until the file got corrupt, took them to the Prem where the journey ended.
- Network save - Me and my brother began a network save end of December, we're now 16 seasons in so a repeat of that but from the start would be good
- Round the world domination - always try this, didn't this year, perhaps a return to it
- Journeyman/Pentagon save - as the title says, never tried to complete the pentagon, maybe next year it is...

Started a long term save with Sheffield FC, currently battling it out in the Premiership. Aim is to develop youth players from within.
Probably going to do one of these saves soon:
Aberystwyth Town / Welsh Prem Side to Glory - See how far I can take a Welsh Prem side in Europe.
1860 rebuild - Had a soft spot for these boys for years, gutted to see what happened to them a season ago. Now back in Bundesliga 3, would be an interesting re-build.
Holland Rebuild - Fancy taking Ajax and the Holland national team and rebuild both.
Also fancy a career in Africa too, a journeyman. Would love to manage Liberia and find the next George Weah ...

I'll always have a Blackpool save, just because. It will be another bodged together team but hopefully with high takeover potential!

Another I missed - similar to the Holland idea but with an Argentinian team. Recently read 'Angels With Dirty Faces' and feel inspired

Always struggle to manage Newcastle for some reason, maybe next season will be the time I manage them.
Blyth Spartans - local team and thankfully on the default database again
A German team - Not Bayern or Dortmund. usually go one of Leverkusen, Schalke and Hertha but Hamburg could be a nice challenge this season (although for 2018 I decided to go lower leagues and go BFC Dynamo)
Currently got my Andorran challenge going but I'm keen to test my self in new waters for FM19 and have thought of the following
The Soviet Challenge - Win the domestic top league in each of the 15 former USSR republics.
The Nordic Challenge - Win the domestic top league starting with the lowest rank league (Faroes) and working way up through Nordic countries in order of rank.
Sporting CP - Although this is not new waters, given what has happened and turn around of players at the club, I can see it being a struggle for them going forward.

VfB Stuttgart -
Rules: You can only hire German players up to the age of 21 and anything that is not of the German nationality can only be hired up to the age of 18.
You do the scouting tasks with the prompts i sad.
You decide where to send the scout, as long as you have these rules.
Based on the reports of players they give you, you hire these players. You can not hire players that are not recommended to you.
It can also be done in other countries, but for me the best ones are: Germany, Holland and Portugal.

England - Liverpool
Spain - Real Madrid
Germany - Hamburg
Italy - AC Milan
Holland - Ajax
France - Strasbourg

As soon as I saw the news, I thought the same as you. It's a possibility

So the ideas I have are 1- England, I'm considering Leeds or Aston Villa, attempting to bring glory back to these well established clubs. Any ideas which would be more interesting? 2- Italy, teams for consideration are Milan, Parma, Udinese, again any advice on which to pick? 3- Journeyman save, I like the idea of making a retired player and seeing how his career can go in management, I'm thinking good old Pat Evra, any advice on journeymen saves as I've never done one before?

2 - Italy - Sampdoria, for one reason or another they have never really been able to be seen as one of the 'elite' clubs in Serie A. The best days were probably seen in the late 80's early 90's where they of course lost against Barcelona in both the Cup Winners Cup final and then a couple of years later in the European Cup final. Since then its been a slow decline and now seen as more of selling club.
3 - For a journeyman its probably best to start unemployed with a few leagues loaded and then just holiday until a job you fancy comes along.

I've done Nottingham Forest in the past, and Sheffield Utd/Wed too. Which is why I was thinking Leeds or Villa, just don't know whether it would be too easy or not, heard Villa have a new owner, so maybe they would be easier than Leeds, but Leeds seem to be performing well.
Sampdoria could be an option, Milan sounds cool but maybe too easy again, and if I'm not mistaken there's some young talent at both Parma and Udinese that could make it interesting.

It's two weeks until the BETA is released and I've still not decided. Manchester City will more than likely be the BETA save so I can get used to the new training and stuff but I've still no idea on what my main save is going to be.
