Also, people that call Wonga loan-sharks are incredibly misinformed on what the actual purpose of Wonga is.

The interest rates are for over a year, something which I doubt Wonga would allow you to do.

You're supposed to lend it over a week, a quick check I just done proved that if you lent 100 you'd end up paying back 112 the next week.

Hardly scandalous.

The maximum length of time I was allowed to lend for was 30 days after my quick investigation.

People are stupid, it's not the company's fault.

I really like the blue one, not so keen on the blue one however.

I don't really care that it is Wonga, I don't think they should exist, but well it's not like the PL have ever asked or cared where the money has come from before.

Yeah they're short term lenders, the problem is when people use them and dont pay back within the time they agreed. Everyone points out the interest rates but they only apply when you miss repayments.

And loan sharks only break your legs when you are late with your payments....

And your point?

You could easily say the exact same thing that you did about loan sharks. "It's short term. They are only bad when you fail to pay in time."

Fact is, both loan sharks and "pay day" loans are usury, something that shouldn't be permitted in a modern society.
