Should I still play a player I have transfer listed?

Anyone got any advice on whether I should still a play a player who I have transfer listed? For example I have the following questions:

Will playing them increase their value and/or interest?
Is it wrong to play them when they are transfer listed, for example when I'm short because of injuries, will it confuse the player?

I also ask the same about loan listing a player.

Personally I don't think its a massive problem so look at it like this. If he wants to stay he's gonna play well to prove his worth and if he does that interest in him will increase.
