Have chosen Concord Rangers as 'fairly' close to me plus I could have played for them many years ago but decided not to. Standard non league setup and mid table is our expected final standing and no money, looking at the starting squad we'll probably be playing 7 upfront this season.
Decarrey Sheriff looks to be our star player.

Still trying to make signings and I've gone down the route of quantity over quality, in fact most contract talks have gone like this.
Me: Do both of your legs allow you to run?
Player: Err yes?
Me: Great, have either of your legs ever kicked a football in the past month?
Player: Yes quite regularly
Me: That's fantastic, sign here please...

A good season overall which saw us finish 8 places above our media predicted 4th position, where we lost out to Wealdstone in the play offs after beating Bath City in the 1st round. In the FA Cup we reached the 1st round proper and a tie against League 1 Fleetwood Town. We led until the 91st min before conceding to draw 1-1, we was well beaten 5-2 in the replay.
Greg Cundle was our player of the season notching an impressive 22 goals, Decarrey Sheriff failed to live up to my expectations scoring just the 7 goals and will only sign a new deal if we pay him £900 a week, erm no chance. A few players are leaving this summer but I have so far brought in better players to replace them. Scottish lads Creag Little (27) and Aaron Dunsmore (23) move down South from Queens Park and East Fife respectively, Craig is an experienced centre back and Aaron will compete with Danny Green for the right midfield position. Add to those Tyler Dickinson (19) a very promising looking GK from QPR and Sam Bell (18) from Bristol City will give me more depth in the AM position.
There will possibly be more signings but these are the main ones I wanted, not like the first season where it is was about getting the numbers in, I've had a season with the club now so I know where we need to improve.

Things are going well, maybe a little fortunate with a couple of our wins with the goals coming late, we also don't seem to be dominating games like last season but are getting the results. Long way to go of course.

Season 2 ended in bigger heartache than the first, we led the table for most of the season until the final couple of games. But we had Welling away on the final day for what was the (1st v 2nd) title decided, sadly Anfield 89 heroics from as we lost 2-1 and found ourselves once again in the play offs. See its only the league winners who are promoted straight up, positions 2nd and 3rd auto qualify for the play off semi's whilst 4th to 7th play a one legged tie to see who joins them. We won our semi final against Ebbsfleet but were well beaten in the final against Bath, ffs.
Time to try and improve the squad I guess.
Also I've just realised I'm yet to introduce myself, you may remember me from winning league titles with both Derby County (1972) and Notts Forest (1978), plus of course the two European Cups in 1979 and 1980. I say what I think and in my own opinion 'I wouldn't say I was the best manager in the business. But I was in the top one'.

3rd season was terrible, the wage budget was reduced from £6.5k a week to £5.3k and this of course meant we were unable to bring in the players needed to improve the squad. After 34 games we sat in 14th position and or though we still had a chance of the play offs there was very little chance we would go a run of games to qualify so I decided to resign. They ended up finishing 19th and narrowly avoiding relegation.
I holidayed for the remaining weeks of the season ready to look for a fresh challenge which didn't take long to come around. Scottish Ladbrokes League 2 side Elgin City offered me a one year deal, they'd finished mid table for the last three season but the board want a play off finish at least. The squad tiny but there was some money spare in both the transfer and wage budgets, plus players actually had contracts meaning no more walking away for nothing. The whole package looked very appealing to I signed on the dotted line.
I've already made a number of signings to beef up the squad depth so we have at least two players for every position.
