Running older games on Windows 10

Recently got a disc drive for my laptop, so obviously went straight to installing games that aren’t available on my Steam library. Just installed 2005, it installed fine, but won’t play. Seemingly this is an issue due to older games not working on Windows 10. Was hoping someone would have a guide to working around this.
