First time in the Vanarama National League South for me. Had some non-league action in past FM titles but this is my first run in the South on FM22. I have very little to no knowledge of the division……so should be fun. Will have to rely on actually looking at players properly rather than just buying names! Looking light at CB, DM and ST (potentially have a few options at striker though looking at the squad). Started off by asking the board to invest in Youth Recruitment, let's see how that goes…

So. I seem to have broken the bank…. Having been so used to being able to ignore the compensation costs of recruiting coaches from other teams, I have inadvertently bottomed out my transfer budget. I did manage to get a friendly with Norwich, which put £10k+ into the club, but I really need to hope my push for promotion is successful now. The coaching staff has been expanded and the other “critical” roles have been filled. Secured a couple of loans and free agents too. Here are the additions….

Nobody has left the club on my watch so far, although, if I am honest, one of the £1k p/w guys may need to be offloaded. I won't be afraid to let one go should there be interest before the window closes, I won't be hawking any of my players on the market though. Let's see what happens. Here are the staff additions….

I accidentally asked the club to add an U23 team by clicking the wrong option in the board requests drop down, but, that is fine, my long term goal is to start filling the U18 and U23 with better players and hopefully turn some of them for profit. Start building the club finances up on our journey up the football pyramid.

Preseason has been up and down, mainly as I like to give the trialists and backups plenty of game time to see what they are like (we all know how little value we should put in the ‘star’ rating). Here are the results and I'll see you in September with the next update! Season starts next week.
