Rushall’s Rise to the top

Hi all welcome to my first ever FM blog on this website. I am going to be doing an fm24 save with Newly promoted Rushall Olympic as they begin their first ever season in the National League North. I have chosen Rushall as its their first time in this division (as stated above) but also as it’s a team relatively close to my home about a 15min drive. This will be a tough challenge as the club is very small and not big spenders, but I am looking forward to it and can't wait to share it with you.

My Aims:

Gain Promotion as fast as possible through the English Pyramid

Become a Legend at Rushall

Win as much silverware as possible

Win the domestic Cups along the way

Club background:

Rushall Olympic Football Club Nicknamed “The Pics” is an English football club based in Rushall, Walsall. Formed in 1893. The team competes in the Vanarama National League North, playing their home games at Dales Lane, which has a capacity of 2,112 spectators. However, The Pics only average about 500 at home games.

The Squad:

As you can see our squad is tiny we have 17 players to use during pre-season, with a wage balance of £250 a week and £0 transfer budget. I am going to struggle to sign players. To compete in this league, we need to have a squad of at least 23 to have a stabile rotation and to cover with injuries. I am going to sign loans and get players in on non-contracts. We have no Under 18 or U21, so I can't rely on youth either which makes it so much harder. I have decided to play a 4-1-2-3 wing play tactic this year which I thought benefited this team in their strengths and abilities. The age range of the current squad is 24-33 yrs old then Ronan who is currently the only player under 20.

Key players:

My key players this year have to be CALLUM ROWE and RONAN MAHER. Both players are our strongest in ability wise in this division and hold down 2 of my 3 midfield spots. Ronan is an 18yr old Irish midfielder on loan from local League 2 team Walsall, his contract expires in January. Callum is also a relatively young midfielder at the age of 24 and has some experience at National league level who is on a 1yr contract.

League Prediction:

Being a brand new in the division is tough. Having a small squad is tough but being given a media prediction of 23rd place 200-1 odds for promotion and favourites for relegation, proves just how hard this challenge is going to be.
