Since 2005, Red Bull has started buying football teams around the world, from Salzburg in Austria and Leipzig in Germany, to New York in MLS and Bragantino in Brazil

This project is completely in sinergy and every club is connected each other, from management to scouting and talent point of view.

Red Bull has been rumored for several years to be trying to expand into other european countries after the excellent successes it had with Salzburg and Leipzig. In Italy in the past there was talk of a possible interest in Udinese Calcio, but then it wasn't pursued. on this road.

But then in 2023 comes the turning point, Red Bull decides to acquire the Fussball Club Südtirol, a team founded in 1995, from the city of Bolzano, in the autonomous province of Bolzano, in Italy, which combined with that of Trento forms Trentino Alto-Adige , a bilingual region, Italian and German and on the border with Austria. Ideal place for the austrian RB management.

The club has just returned from its first historic promotion to Serie B two seasons ago and surprisingly reached the play-off semi-finals last season.

The RB management decides to set up the club along the lines of what was done in Austria with Salzburg and therefore provide the new Red Bull Südtirol with a satellite club and therefore acquires AC Trento, renamed Fussball Club Trento, and active in the Serie C. The RB management's objective is clear, to forge talents through Trento, bring them to Südtirol and then encourage a future move to Leipzig.

The Moneyball Approach

Here for this club a slightly different approach is introduced, Red Bull always tends to use new concepts and technologies, large-scale scouting methods.

Moneyball originated in Major League Baseball (MLB) in the United States. It was a concept made famous by the book and subsequent movie, showcasing how the Oakland Athletics, a small-market team, used data and analytics to compete with big-spending franchises. The essence of Moneyball lies in finding undervalued assets, often overlooked by traditional scouting methods.

In the context of football, Moneyball represents a shift from the conventional scouting model, which primarily relies on subjective judgments and intuition. Instead, it embraces data analytics to identify players who possess the attributes and potential to excel, even if they don't have the same star power or price tag as their more celebrated counterparts.

The Red Bull management decides to do things big, and therefore builds a new proprietary stadium: Red Bull Südtirol Arena, 25k spectators, nestled between the Alps and a new facility for the youth teams, the Fussball Akademie Südtirol.

I'll attach a video here, made by LucullusGames, an Italian FM streamer, where the approach system of this career made with moneyball and also with the role of General Manager is explained, that is, we will deal with the market and financial management, but not with tactics, the matches will be managed by the assistant coach who we will choose and move via the in-game editor. Obviously this is just the type of career I chose, but you can also use the db for a simple career.

Additions:

- Underwriter/Sugar Daddy ownership.

- New Stadium and Academy ground.

- Improved sponsorships

- Affiliation with other RedBull clubs

The club was created on the model of the collaboration between RB Salzburg and FC Liefering, in this case we will have RB Südtirol as main team and FC Trento as B/satellite club. Players between RB Südtirol and Trento can transfer freely.

Having just arrived in the family, RB Südtirol starts last in the chain of affiliations. The order of importance of the teams is as follows, but obviously as you progress as a team you can request a change to the agreements from the management by reversing the roles:

RB Leipzig

RB Salzburg

RB New York

RB Bragantino

RB Südtirol.
